BIOS 83 Updates:
  • Updates CPU Microcode

  • Use a CD Burning software to burn the .iso image onto a blank CD (Nero, Alochol 120%, MagicISO etc.)
  • After it has burned, insert CD and restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Now set the CD Drive as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select CD as the bootable device.
  • After flash remove the CD, and power off PC Completely.

Ok!
Nothing's been changed except for the Cpu microcode?

What are the changes? if your running fine on your presant CPU, and don't plan on changing, is this necessary ? Is this 990 995 support ? does it do anything for the 970 980 non X , turbo issues ? Sorry about all the questions, I just don't like changing BIOS, unless it fixes something. I know it is unlikley but a power glitch during an update could cause an un-necessary RMA, Just checking.

The link to the BIN on the X58 SLI (758) EVGA bios 83 download page under "SUPPORT" has a link to the 76083.bin file. Of course the AWDFLASH utility says "no way am I going to install that" so you have to come here to find it. And this page is so new that it isn't indexed by Google yet, so it's a real PITA to find.

I've added this to the BIOS Changelog for the E759 Classified Limited Edition Board (<-link), in case you want to check out the notes and links for current and past BIOSes, both official and beta (Thirty of them and counting...) for this great motherboard.

So even after telling us months ago that "We are working on it", EVGA still hasn't sorted out the issue of Vcore not dropping with the multi when speedstep and C1E are enabled.

I can only assume EVGA_JacobF, that EVGA were not working on it, or they can't be bothered ?
