Hey Brad, will that 48 gb you want to use for ramdisk be 100% volatile ram or will you be using something else? I guess what I really want to know is how would you deal with a sudden power loss? Is it gone at that point?  Thanks.

Critical user files will always be on my RAID5 hard drive setup. The OS and 1 or 2 of the current games I use will be on a disk image loaded into the ramdisk at boot. A save state will be written to the disk image file at shutdown and at intervals throughout the day. There are 2 or 3 enterprise level ramdisk utilities that should allow this sort of setup. The possibility of hosing up the OS install with a crash or power outage often might occur, but as it's loading up a disk image at boot, I wouldn't lose much.

Yep, SSD is a lot less volatile. I'm mostly doing it because it's different and interesting proof of concept for me.

I just received a used dell 27" monitor that is 1 year old off ebay.  U2711 2560x1440 resolution and it is just as seller described no scratches and no dead pixels very happy with purchase.

Saturday I got in my new op-amps for my xonar essence stx card. Installed them and they sound amazing. Can't wait until may now for the sennheiser hd 700 cans to come out.
