Long story.  Two of my rigs have been destroyed.    My graphics card, power supply, physx card, H50, and a few fans didn't survive on my X58 setup.  As for my home server, my graphics card, motherboard, power supply, 4 hdd's, dvd, and a few fans didn't survive as well.  So this is mainly just a rebuild for those two rigs.  
 
As for the surviving cpu from my home server, I had a Cooler Master Elite case, a few hard drives (for data), power supply, 4GB of Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600,  RAID card, and dvd burner laying around.  Bought a Asus P5G41T-M LX motherboard to put that CPU into (seen below) and a Velociraptor 74GB 10,000RPM (OS Drive) to fill the blanks.  Threw it all together along with a Ubuntu Server OS and I now have a little linux server to play around with.
 
So at the end of the day, things are looking pretty good.  BTW, I know most people would look at the mobo below and say, why that one.  Well for the price and what it is being used for, this little mobo really impressed me.  Glad I purchased it.

bought a cd drive the other day. I gave in finally.
 
I used to use my laptop's cd drive, then a flash drive to get stuff of cd's. I'm done. Plus I like the sound  of a spinning cd.  I didn't want a USB one. I wanted the inside my case one.
