I sent some screenshots to support@evga.com yesterday evening but so far no one has responded.
 
It seems impossible to find anyone with a 3080ti XC3 to attempt to verify findings. everyone has the FTW3 model. even though people have responded to getting 3080ti XC3 models in the tracking threads, no one has responded to this request for testing. I've made a post on r/EVGA on reddit also, some upvotes, but no comments. 
 
I would like to attempt to flash a known-good BIOS for the HC card. so I hope EVGA_Lee can source it to add to the other thread. even though support over the phone didnt think that would help. I would like to try to cross it off the list. I've definitely experienced firmware issues in the past where there was some bug or glitch in the original BIOS that reflashing a fresh copy of the same one fixed. So I'd like to attempt that.
 
After that, I think EVGA needs to get someone knowlegable to take a closer look at the BIOS contents to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to be doing. I understand that customer service and level 1 tech support probably don't know the specifics, but I hope they can at least escalate it to the people that know about this stuff rather than writing me off.

I said screw it and bought the xc3 hc from a scalper and it should be here Monday. Thankfully I only paid about 250$ over msrp. I'm definitely hoping I don't run into these problems. I will test it out after I get it connected to my loop. Hopefully someone else can confirm before then.

Heh... might be some hope in the market yet. That is not that unreasonable for someone else to go through the hassle to get one.. and be successful. Good luck.

I ran Time Spy Extreme and checked hwinfo64 and it showed 349.226 watts as my maximum. Did you have a firmware update when you first got the card? I installed x1 before this test and I was prompted to upgrade the 3080ti firmware. I dunno if that made a difference or not but yea I'm not having the same problem.

Seriously, I was so happy for it. Prices are definitely dropping, you can get 3070 ti ftw for like 1k and I've even seen one or two for under 1k and msrp for that is like 800$

I installed x1 before this test and I was prompted to upgrade the 3080ti firmware. I dunno if that made a difference or not but yea I'm not having the same problem.

yes I did the firmware update. but that would have no impact anyway, the PX1 firmware updates are for fans and RGB. nothing to do with the clocks or power.
 
what BIOS version do you have on the card? (read with GPUz). Mine is 94.02.71.00.BC, can you dump your BIOS with GPUz?
 
what was your timespy extreme score? can you link to the result?
how much power is used when you run furmark? with clock speeds.
how much power is used when you run MSI combustor? with clock speeds.

I have the same bios version as you but I went ahead and dumped it.

Kombuster 4k fullscreen = max watts 347 in hwinfo64 though on afterburner I saw it go up to 353. Clock was 1740/1755
 
Furmark didn't push it as hard. 322 wats 1200 clock.
 
This was with +100 core clock and +580 on mem in afterburner

What about average power values. Not just spikes/peaks. Does it look like it’s hanging around a lower value consistently with occasional spikes to ~350W, or hanging around 350W all the time?

It's staying at 340-350 during the test.

Is that with the power slider at 100% or max?
