Hey,
Im waiting to the card arrival next week..
But i keep seeing reviews/posts of people say that the card crush while gaming with 750w psu..and the card taking 450w+..
Do i need to be worry?the recommended psu is 750w according to the product page..

And what do i need to expect in therms of temps and noise (stock..no oc for now)..coming from 3080 aorus extreme that was not silent..but acceptable..

Thanks!

I think the recommendations are always 'minimum recommended power supply', so it won't run on anything lower but the same or higher should be fine. Depending on your other hardware, you might need a bigger PSU.

I read a good way to gauge what PSU you need is to add all your hardware to something like the pcpartpicker website, where it estimates total wattage, and then times that by 1.5 to get the PSU size you need.

e.g. if pcpartpicker says 500W then 500 * 1.5 = 750

Thanks,
I got 604w (9700kf)..why is the x1.5 for?its not supposed to be accurate?

Is turning of the card RGB should help a little?(i dont care about that...)

I'd say it depends on the rest of your hardware and the use of it.

This is a chart of power consumption for the 3080 Ti FTW3:

Spikes of power are 531W on furmark test and 452W while gaming. While gaming the CPU shouldn't run at 100% but it might do it briefly. How much power consume your CPU at 100% load?

You can also undervolt and limit frame rate to keep the GPU cool and consume less power. I'm on the queue for a 3080 Ti and I also have a 750W PSU. I'll give it a shot and see how it works, but I think it should be fine by undervolting both the GPU and CPU

Thank you!
450-530w is unbelievable!is it the normal or oc bios?
And if that so..why is the recommended psu is 750w?you dont need to undervolt the card in order to use it with the recommended spec...

Stock vBIOS. That's a chart from techpowerup's review and they didn't say anything about a custom or oc bios on the review so I'm assuming the review is on stock bios.

Well... How's EVGA going to know what's the rest of your hardware? the 750W recommendation is a rough estimate.

Probably EVGA calculated something like: 530W (max on GPU) + 120 W for CPU + 100 W (for MB, RAM, etc) = 750 W

You might have a cryo cooler or some crazy hardware that sucks a lot of power and there is no way EVGA is going to know.

Thanks.
On the card there is a physical switch-normal bios or oc bios ..so if the normal one draws 530..how much does the oc one draws??

Our minimum recommended power is typically going to be the same as NVIDIA's recommended power supply.  On the specs page on GeForce.com, NVIDIA usually lists what the system configuration was tested with when they determined the minimum power requirements, and you can compare that to your system.

For example, go here to find the 3080 Ti, and you'll find NVIDIA's configuration is: "Requirement is made based on PC configured with an Intel Core i9-10900K processor. A lower power rating may work depending on system configuration."

As far as I know that switch only affects the fan table and not the actual power limit of the GPU so it should draw the same power.

Interesting. Although the FE 3080 Ti has a peak power a lot lower of 412W vs 531 and at gaming the FE consumes a max power of 352W vs 452W for the FTW3:

750 gold is fine....  personally i don't buy anything less than 1000w tho.
