too true, emmett..  it does feel very wasteful.  I'd have to rebuild my system AGAIN to use that PSU as well.  not sure I'm up for it.

I decided to skip the 3090 ti Kingpin when I got my notification mail yesterday.  EVGA should have knocked $400 off the price and not included the power supply.  I already have too many 1500 watt and 1600 watt power supplies.  I don't need EVGA to force me to buy something I don't need to get something else.  That's almost as bad as Newegg and their Newegg Shuffle bundles that bundled in demand items and unwanted/poor quality items.  EVGA says "requirements" when in reality  its probably to get people to buy PSUs now that they have too many and mining demand decreases reduced the demand for higher wattage PSUs.  Do they actually think everyone who overclocks needs another 1600 watt power supply?

that where I am at too, I got 2 almost new PSUs in the closet and one in my current build ;a 1k a 1.2 k and a 1.6, + A 90 ti waiting on an EK block already pre ordered

Most likely because you'll need 6x 8-pins to power the card with the included adapters, or 8 8-pins when using a power link. 

why not the t2 tough? they are the same price right now

You are correct, it can only be used by you and it uses 2 party authentication to go through and complete transaction, It will go down the list and be released naturally back into the wild, mine is going that way too.

I look at it this way. I think EVGA was always going to charge $2499.99 but with the changing market conditions and glut of PSUs as everyone waits for the new standards they decided to bundle it with it to give more value to their always known MSRP and ship out some PSUs too.
 
Considering the 3090ti Hybrid was $2199.99, $2499.99 seems just about right for the pricing even before throwing in a PSU.
