they dropped the ftw3 hybrids last night, so my assumption is the delays were related to asetek/aio supply. maybe not, and maybe we'll see some kingpin notis this week now? but if they're dripping them out slowly to milk sales for each sku, maybe .... next week

Could be just PX1...EVGA wanting to get it right with this software prior to the release of the 3090 Ti Kingpin?  Just maybe...

Thank you for the information. Hopefully that is the case, but I think EVGA is taking a risk waiting so long. People may now pass for the 40 series.

I'd be thinking more like will anyone get a 4000 series card anytime soon. And what card would surpass this one in speed? 4090?? 4090ti?? Doubt it will be anything less then a 4090.

Only reason why I'm not trying to figure out how to pay for one is all because of the 0 water block for it.

I'd say it would be smarter to grab a 3090ti cause one can get a block for it.

But if ya want to grab the 3090ti kinpin with the air cooler.. would the cooler be warrantied for the whole 3 years?. If one got the 10 year warranty would that Also include the aio cooler?

They are absolutely risking sales volume with the late launch on a high $$ 3000 card.  IT likely wasn't intended to coincide with the GPU Market crashing, but here we are. 
 
As for what card will beat a 3090ti even a KP, likely it will be easily bested by the 4080 and above SKU's.  As well as AMD's 7800XT and above sku's.  The next gen stuff is going to be cranked up substantially.  Remember that the 3070 beat/tied the 2080TI @ Launch for half the MSRP of the 2080TI.  I think that the generational gain will be even greater this time.
 

You know, the latest rumor mill shows the 4080 not having that many more cores than the 3080 though. If that turns out to be true then the 4080 might not be a huge leap over the 3090Ti. Obviously just rumors though.

Makes sense Nvidia would separate the 4080 and 4090 more though. Never made sense these cards were so close together for 30 series. The eBay pricing is reflecting that too with only $300—$400 difference in pricing between the 3080 and 3090.

As much as I wanted the 90Ti KP, and despite how good the hybrid coolers are, I want a flagship that I can integrate into my loop -- however, these delays were what finalized my decision to drop from the queue as I'm now out of town for over a month, away from my test bench. By then, I expect more availability of 90Ti FTW3/Strix/etc. waterblocks from the different vendors and I'd go a different route.

At this point, I wonder if the E5 will get a 40-series version instead, haha.
