screw the block, has he given any indication of when they'll start shipping kingpins? i think i'm giving myself a hard stop of tomorrow for this now. i want it but 2 months before 40 series, potentially? 3090 Ti kingpin will prob be smashed by 4070 XC3

Yeah, I'm feeling the same way. Even on launch day I was having second thoughts given the small performance difference from the 3090 and new cards being only months out. But now, with new cards RIGHT on the horizon, it's so much harder to justify.

Nope, as far as I've heard, no indications on when the KP Ti would be shipping, not even a rough month estimate. 

Let's not forget about what happens when the new round of cards hit.. so ya might be put off thinking new card 4 months later.. but it maybe over a year before ya can order it haha.

If it's anything like last time, there will be a firesale on Ampere cards after the announcement, followed by a rebound to nominal pricing once there is no availability of the new cards.  Imho the firesale has already started, due to the performance rumors, July rumors, inflation and recession.

I would feel confident that a 4070 xc3 Ada 104 won't be smashing a binned GA 102 full chip.

Yeah true. Maybe a 4090ti and thsts how long away? Haha

I am pretty sure the 2x performance improvement is way exaggerated too, Stagnation is the hallmark of new gpu launches. My 90 ti block has a July 15th due date and it's better on air than my old KPE hybrid.

My ftw3 3090 scores past 15k on Port Royal and under volted cause I have to to stay under the power limit.

Doesn't sound great BUT for one thing: "The outcome could change soon with newer and improved XOC BIOSes so we will see what happens in the very near future."
 
I have a feeling once a decent BIOS is available we will see some very different results from those who have the ability to run LN2 cooling.
