I recently put an Optimus PC water block on my 3090 and the thermal perform is awesome. I have a stable PC of 2130mhz but when playing Escape from Tarkov and the card is at 100% which it is most of the time, my clocks drop. I have a 5800x3d CPU and that gets very little utilization in this game. I am using the XOC BIOS that was on the second BIOS slot from the factory. Is there any way around this so I can get the performance the card is capable of? I looked through the pinned section and did not see anything relevant to my question.

Those are some nice frequencies for a 3090. It's most likely running into power limits. The boost clock frequency will adjust to voltage, temperature, and power. You can use the sensors panel in GPUz to see what your performance limit is.

The performance limit is pegged.

It seems like it starts dropping the clocks around 80% usage. It pulls 435w.

Perf cap reason saying "pwr"? most likely either pwr or vreg

So it looks like I am maxed out in PWR. 450w is max on the stock OC BIOS right?

Yeah looks normal. There is going to be a buffer zone between what the card is actually consuming and its max power draw. My 3080ti with the max power limit will consume about the same power when it is supposed to be 450w too. my 3080ti sits right about 2000Mhz and will drop to 1980Mhz sometimes for max power too.

That sucks. I have way more headroom for cooling.

Thank Nvidia... Ideally you'd want the XOC Bios, and I've heard you might be able to ask around to get one or if you're able to find it posted somewhere. You can also do a shunt mod but that's potentially dangerous to damaging the card.

my apologies, When I meant XOC Bios i don't mean the default one loaded into the XOC bios toggle. You'll need one with unlocked power limit. I assume you've got the power limit slider on either afterburner or precision X slid to the max? TPU review of the card reports the XOC bios should have 500W limit
