Near the Power connectors. If you have the Powerlink, it could be covered.

I didn't take screenshots, but I am seeing small score increases in all the benchmarks I ran. I also played BF1 for about an hour without a single problem.

It also seems like I can OC my core a little more. I was at +80 offset, now I can run +100 offset.

Can an EVGA technical support representative explain on a technical level why non-iCX 1080 SC, FTW, FTW Hybrid, and Hydro Copper 1080s are not compatible with these BIOS updates?  What is it, specifically hardware wise, that the iCX cards have, that the aforementioned cards do not?

Your reply would be greatly appreciated by those of us who do not own iCX cards and are interested in the potential overclocking headroom these updates may provide beyond the memory speed boost.  My 1080 FTW non-iCX card already overclocks on the memory to 12000 Mhz (+1000).  It earned me the highest 3DMark FireStrike score of any single 1080 GPU paired with an i5-4690K.   The memory was overclocked to 12000 Mhz (+1000), the core to 2101 (+74), the i5-4690K to 4.8 GHz @1.425V with the uncore/cache at 4.6 Ghz @ 1.375V, and 32GB of DDR3 ram at 2400 Mhz at 10-12-12-31 timing.  Proof here: w**.3dmark.com/fs/11996982

Or could you guys bother to answer if it changes the timings or voltages of the vram to allow this higher clock rate?

i flashed it to my hydrocopper that would run 5600Mhz already stable on the memory and got a higher 3dmark score on this bios by like 500-800 points so seems like timings have been adjusted to me.

Might not be much but i was able to get 26mhz more on my core on my hydrocopper 1080 running it at 2126 now, have not see any problems so far with using the bios other then if i load XOC it shows memory and some other temp as NA.

Great to hear.   I suspected as much.

It would be nice if EVGA updated the article to state that non-iCX cards also qualify for the bios update, or at least explain to non-iCX owners why their cards don't, and if so, if updating their bios anyways voids the warranty.
