Hi everyone,

I've received my GTX 1080 FTW2 GAMING P/N 08G-P4-6686-KR and as many of you it is equipped with the latest BIOS version 86.04.60.00.80 / 86.04.60.01.80 (master / slave). So the max memory speed is set by default at 10 GHz effective (1251 MHz in GPU-Z). I've checked the manufacturing date with the S/N and it appears my card was made in November 2017, quite recently.

Just wanted to thank you and this worked for my recently purchased 6686. like many users the official provided executables failed and the only (useless) official advice provided was to boot into safe mode or run as administrator.

the only thing I would note is I didn't have to delete the GPU in the device manager. after restarting Windows had disabled the GPU in the device manager but it's a simple step to right-click and enable it. immediately after re-enabling the GPU in device manager, gpuz, precision, and Nvidia Control Panel recognized the GPU.

I recently bought a gtx 1080 ftw2 DT and decided to upgrade the bios.
After realizing that the homepage bios is older, I installed what was posted by saijin here

86.04.60.00.80...

I used the nvflash64 mentioned a few pages ago. I disabled the card in the windows device manager and uninstalled the driver with ddu. I rebooted the PC and reinstalled the driver but something is wrong. The gpu and memory clocks are both wrong and alternate between the correct one and 137 and 405 respectively. Need help

That's normal. The GPU should change clocks between idle states and when it's being used. This will occur even when web browsing. Also, Afterburner shows you're using a really ancient driver.

hahaha
1 - This is true, I really use a very old driver. He gave me many joys and did not want to discard him...

2 - Before I updated the bios, I could reach 130% in msi afterburner. Now I get only 120%

3 - Does anyone have the slave bios for FTW2 DT that will reach the 11ghz?

hello, it is necessary to modify both vbios, master and slave or only slave and leave the other normal

slave option

I'd update both.

I recently bought a 1080 FTW2 (non-DT version). I downloaded the correct BIOS file, unzipped it. There are two files, primary.exe and secondary.exe. I ran the secondary.exe to update the slave bios. I followed the instruction in the very first post, saw screen blackout for a few seconds, pressed the "Y" button to confirm, heard some beeping sound, but nothing happened at the end. The card still runs on the old bios. Do I need to boot windows 10 to safe mode to update bios, or do I have to uninstall driver first? Please advise, thanks in advance.
