Hi,

I've been emailing back and forth with support on my FTW2 (non-DT).  I can't get past this error.  Has anyone seen this and been able to beat it?

Try the latest version of nvflash.

I guess from your reply that it means I was wrong above (post 288), and he should carry on a flash the BIOS?

I don't want to post false information if it can be avoided :)

Thanks for the info.  The 11Ghz BIOS flash (at least the one I've found) is provided in the form of an executable.  How do I extract the .rom?

Thanks.

How do I extract the .rom?

You don't. EVGA will need to give you the .rom by itself.

Found the .rom on techpowerup... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191353/191353

Thanks.  I did ask them if they were able to provide a copy but they said they did not have it.  I'm wondering if someone who has successfully updated the firmware on their 6686 using the executable method provided by EVGA can pull the .rom from their card and share?

The .rom listed in post #295 is the 11 GHz master .rom.

Master 11 GHz .rom: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191353/191353
Slave 11 GHz .rom: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/191610/191610 (says it's for the ftw2 dt, but that is incorrect, it's actually for the ftw2 6686 model.)

Well -- Good news and bad news!

1. I was able to flash my 6686 with the roms you provided.
2. My memory clock got stuck on 405Mhz :-( (even during Superposition benchmark).
3. Reverted back to backup of BIOS I had, no problem.

One oddity I noticed was that in GPU-Z, stock BIOS reports memory clock before DDR conversion (1251Mhz).  With 11Ghz BIOS, it was at 5501Mhz.  I wonder if the card is going into limp mode because it has no clue what do with 5501Mhz (22,000Mhz DDR )
