Also, do you still need the secondary Bios? I have a copy of it that I made

No i have it .Thank you.

Hi @Nick_86

Reading the thread it looks like this BIOS image you have uploaded is the Master BIOS of your GTX1080 FTW2 card v 86.04.60.00.80. Could you confirm that please?

After a long series of dumb moves, I ended up with both BIOS's borked by the BIOS's linked at the top of this thread, and both BIOS's MemClocks stuck at 405 MHz. I had a backup of my Slave BIOS but not my Master BIOS. I have recovered all functions of the card with my backup slave, and your copy of the BIOS as master.

But is your copy actually the Master BIOS?

I am assuming there is a difference between Master and Slave.

Thanks :)

EDIT: The forum isn't allowing me to post hyperlinks, that's why the techpowerup link is not quoted in full above

Hello @jumpjet777
Master bios is 86.04.60.00.80
Slave bios is 86.04.60.01.80

Master bios has zero speed fans and low power target
Slave bios has 16% gpu fan and maximum power target.

Thanks for the info ............. damn I don't know what's gone wrong, I think I have 86.04.60.00.80 in both BIOS's.

The Master is correct for sure, but I need to re-boot now to check the slave.

BRB .................

Phew!

No I am OK, the Slave is 86.04.60.01.80

That also confirms that the one you uploaded was indeed teh Master, and I used it as a master.

Thank you for your help, and your quick reply here .............. I can rest easy from now on, after an horrific 7 or 8 hours last night trying to get the card out of the  memclock mode, messing around with drivers, backups, and restore points

Cheers :D

EDIT: It's interesting that the slave is the correct version number 86.04.60.01.80, but it doesn't have those fan and power attributes set. It's running with zero fan right now, and power target 100%, exactly the same as the Master

Everytime you switch your bios from slave to master you need to
1)uninstall drivers
2)Use ddu
3)reinstall drivers... :)

Ah I see. I just did that during my fault finding, not when flipping the BIOS switch.

Very useful info, thanks for that, I've never had a dual bios card ....... can you tell that I've come from 15+ years of only using ATI/AMD cards? :D    <<<<<<--------- don't answer that ;-)

Hi,

I've been emailing back and forth with support on my FTW2 (non-DT).  I can't get past this error.  Has anyone seen this and been able to beat it?

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think you should not be flashing to that BIOS, it's not compatible, that's what I did, and my memclock dropped and stuck at 405 Mhz (when it should be 10000 Mhz+. I have only just fixed it.

If you have the BIOS's Nick_86 mentioned above :-

Master bios is 86.04.60.00.80
Slave bios is 86.04.60.01.80

.... they should not be flashed to :-

86.04.3B.40.81
86.04.3B.41.81

Cheers

I appreciate the quick response and am sorry that happened to you.  I wonder what the technical reason is.  I will leave it be for now.

I think that cards with this BIOS 86.04.60.00.80/81 (like ours have) have this 11Ghz function already available

I have only done some quick benchmarks so far, I didn't see higher than 5006 Mhz (effective 10012 mhz) when in default mode. However when I set my Memclock to +500 mhz in Precision XOC (with no other adjustments), I got 5506 Mhz (11012 Mhz effectively). I haven't done a long stress test yet, but is seems to be working perfectly in all the benchmarking software.

I assumed the BIOS's at the top of this thread would boost to 11k automatically. perhaps cards with our BIOS can go to 11k boost, but we need to set it manually, or via an automatic +500 Mhz saved profile. i.e 2D profile is stock 10k and my 3D profile is 11k. As soon as I run game Precision XOC changes the card to the 11k profile. Precision XOC must be running for this to happen, no Precision XOC = Stock 10k speed
