How do we verify that our GPU were able to unlock the 11 Ghz?

Is it an Sc2 or FTW3? Thats the first thing. Second, are you willing to take the time to test the card after flashing the bios?

Yes, I'm willing to take time to test the card. I used some benchmarks and even GPUID but it didn't detect it the 11 Ghz on GPUID.

GPU-Z should show both the new BIOS version and show the new memory speed.

same as my card i flashed the bios shows.
1376x4=5504 or 1376=11,008 so its running 11Ghz memory

So my GPU is good to go then?

yep if your seeing 1376 it means the memory was bumped up.

How can I make sure I get one from Amazon with the 11 ghz ram? I mean the 11 ghz version actually has ram rated at 11ghz or is this the same ram tweaked through a bios update? The specs on Amazon rate the ram for the 1080ftw2 at 10 ghz. Must I buy direct from evga? Thanks

At this time, any card that you buy would be the 10GHz models, and you would flash it upon receiving the card. There is no ETA for an updated 11 GHz card in the marketplace at this time.

So I should wait or by waiting it will become even more obsolete?

Just guessing here, but I think EVGA just gave the new 11GHZ models the same bios treatment they do to other models of their GPU's when they bump the clock speeds. I don't know for sure until EVGA actually makes a statement, but for now I think that's all they did. Jacob though did mention that if any bios flashes to the new 11GHZ mem clock had any issues that we could revert back to the original bios. I wish there was something official about this though it would clear things up hopefully for people wanting to purchase the 11GHZ model.

I haven't had any problems with the new bios and it has the improved performance on my FTW2 just a FYI.

just find someone who has icx card taking off the cooler and the midplate and provide the numbers printed on the vram surface, then we will know the truth.

According to that catalog Micron also makes a 12 gbps vram module. Wish Evga would put those in there. That would be awesome. Anyhow not going to buy one unless I know the ram is rated for 11 gbps otherwise its just an overclock.

yes, it is said that the new ttxp has used the 12gpbs chip.
it is impossible for evga/nvidia to make one 1080 with 12gpbs chip.

if this bios is for 10gbps chip to be overclocked to 11gbps, then all evga 1080 models including fe and sc1 and ftw1 and hybrid and classified should have had the same bios update like the ftw2 and sc2 have.

I have the 1080 ftw2 icx and flashed the upgrade bios, all working fine.

Is there anyway I can give you guys any info without taking it apart?

sadly, no.

Interesting.  I flashed the slave with the new primary to test with on my 1080 FTW2 and it still shows 1251MHz for memory in GPU-Z.  However, the bios version shows 86.04.38.40.81, which I believe is the new firmware.
