Hi, I'm considering a cross-ship RMA for my 1080 FTW to resolve the thermal issues.  I bought my card from Newegg in July.  I've never done an RMA with EVGA before.  Can I expect a new card to be shipped to me or will it be a refurb?  If refurb, will it come in the same packaging as my original card?
 
Also if I do a cross-ship now will it be delayed due to the fact that the 1080 FTW is out of stock in the EVGA store?  Do you keep a separate stock for warranty/RMA shipments?

Hi I posted this question over a month ago and never got a reply.  Would really like to get a replacement for my 1080 FTW as I don't feel comfortable doing the thermal pad mod myself, but as the 1080's are constantly out of stock I'm wondering if cross-ship RMAs are taking a while to be fulfilled.

When asking RMA and warranty questions, it is best to ask in the warranty section, as it will get noticed quicker. I am going to move your post over there so it will be easier to find.

thanks didn't think of that.  Figured this was more of a stock question because I'm really just wondering if the item being out of stock effects the time it takes to process an RMA.  Like are RMA replacements fulfilled from the same stock as store purchases?  Anyway I'll see if someone replies in the other section.  Thanks for the help.

They have some 1060's in stock now, better not wait if you want one.

well look like i got a good card , my 1070SC is stock and look at the clock speed on this card GPU-Z AND HWMonitor is saying the same thing ,so what can this card really do if i over clock this

I'm folding , atm , i think if I'm doing that while folding i think i will lose the WU , ok i stopped the WU's

I'm curious if there are any plans to have a gtx 1080 ti sc with founders edition (fan shroud) card?

Well, I think I'll answer my own question. I called EVGA Sale department and asked about their latest revision which is also sold at Amazon, and they confirmed that it comes with updated bios version, termal pad installed and black screen issue fixed. I think now I can place my order.

worse case scenario make a return, amazon has great customer service.
