80c is fine for Nvidia cards - they are meant to take up to 100c

however my stock 570 sits around 58-60c under load
be a good idea to set up an aggressive fan profile with EVGA precision

the passkey can be found at stanford
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

Ive been running mine 100% of the time either folding(mostly folding) or gaming for over a full year
machine only goes down for servicing
the card is under warranty - if it dies - I get a new one
after warranty expires, it time for a upgrade anyways

with my latest purchase I can now enjoy playing a game with my 3930k x79 chugs away 45k PPD

you won't get much folding with the x4  -the 570 will generate most of the points
however it's running anyways  - so fold away

Also a good idea to keep reading the forums on a regular basis
that way you can get advice - learn some things and get in on contest we occasionally run

I added a small fan below the card to pull in more cool air, and set the card fan to run at 60% and its staying at 70c seems to be a good temp, but I can't run the cpu folding untill I get some  Arctic Silver to keep it cool enough.

Hey everybody!

I'm not new to folding, just EVGA. I'm coming over from OCN which has a great Folding community. I'm joining primarily because I'd like to be able to scour your "For Sale" sections  to upgrade my folding machine [sneaky eyes]. Maybe I'll learn  thing or two as well

Hello to all. New to Team EVGA. I started this whole folding craze in late November 2011 so I'm not completely new to folding. I've got 1.08 million points to my name thus far. I hope to make a decent addition to the team.

I come to you with my two boys:
Wanako Works 01: Onyx
     i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz
     EVGA GTX 560Ti SC
     8GB RAM
and my work PC and my 24/7 folder
Big Noodle:
     i7 920 @ 3.74 GHz
EVGA GT 520 (I just had one lying around, might as well put it to work)
     4GB RAM

I don't know all the tricks of the trade yet, but hope to learn. I'm not even sure I'm using the 920 to it's fullest. I think there was a special command or something that can be used for i7s.

checking in, btw the "form" to fill out only has 2011/2010 not 2012.
my favorite projects are GPU grid, Lattice project and WCG but i'm doing both crunching and folding so hopefully you don't hold it against me:P

not really in it for the EVGA bucks, wasnt going to even join any teams but i would like to support EVGA in supporting community science projects so hey!
