Welcome aboard The Greatest Team in the World!

For sure! I figured I'd play for the team that made my hardware. EVGA boards for the win :D

Not new to folding, or this team, but folding again for the first time in 2+ years so an introduction seems appropriate.  Been folding since 2005ish, previously had over 13mil points, and was a contributor to the Stanford folding & help forums.

Just downloaded & installed the latest client which will be running on:
> AMD X4 860K stock speed, with Hyper 212 EVO cooler
> AsRock FM2A88X Extreme 6+ socket FM2+ motherboard
> G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866
> Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti watercooled - (running 38C with F@H running)

Not even sure if I can make the minimum threshold for EVGA bucks awards, but that's only a secondary reason to fold!

First work units downloaded a couple minutes ago:
GPU - 10484 & is showing 9.5 days to completion @ 0.10% complete
CPU - 7520 & is showing 3.6 days to completion @ 0.25% complete
Hopefully these will improve by the time I get back from the movies this afternoon???

CPU seems to run very hot, 84C while folding @ 3.7GHz - had to disable Turbo mode in BIOS because heat would cause it to throttle down to around 3.2Ghz.

I also hope to upgrade to Skylake i7 6700K with an EVGA GTX 970 in Mid November (next bonus check)

Welcome SM-71,
let the WU's get past the 5% mark, finishing and TPF/PPD will stabilize.
Be sure to leave 1x CPU core free for the GPU.

Most do not fold on the cpu, the points are not worth it for the heat and power used.

Did you also put your passkey in??

Cheers

Hey all,

Just started folding for EVGA. The forums for my previous team have been taken down, so it's time to jump ship. I've been folding since 2004, so I may be able to help with any questions people have.

After 2 years away, I knew there would be some changes in F@H... last time I folded with the 660Ti I was lucky to hit 15K+ ppd, but I'm currently showing 89676 eppd from the same GPU

After nearly 24hrs folding, CPU folding definitely does not appear worth the power consumption - only showing 3742 estimated ppd - so I've set it to "finish" & will disable CPU folding after WU is turned in.

Passkey =  First GPU unit dropped for 54,181 points

Now I just need to install Precision X & crank up my GPU.   Currently it's only hitting 1201MHz @ 78%TDP (per GPUz) it used to hit 1288Mhz boost on air cooling while folding, could break 1300Mhz with the liquid cooling!!!

Welcome fellow former teammate!!!  With their forums gone, I imagine quite a few will be doing the same.

Hello everyone,

I feel great to join NO.1 folding team! I knew Folding@Home in year 2008 from my senior middle school physics teacher and I always wanted to be a folder. Now I have started in this month and I am glad to meet you guys here!

Good day!
