NVIDIA has releases its latest GeForce graphics drivers, the GeForce 555.99 WHQL Game Ready drivers. As a new Game Ready drivers, it provides all the optimizations and support, including NVIDIA DLSS 3, for new games like THRONE AND LIBERTY, MechWarrior 5: Clans, and Starship Troopers: Extermination. The new drivers also add support for CUDA 12.7 and enable RTX HDR multi-monitor support within the latest NVIDIA App beta update.

NVIDIA also fixed several issues, including texture flickering issues with Final Fantasy XV and froze white screen and crash issue with Dynig Light 2 Stay Human game. When it comes to general bugs, the new drivers fixes corruption with Steamlink streaming when MSSA is globally enabled, as well as slight monitor backlight panel flicker issue when FPS drops below 60 FPS.

Why does Nvidia use a driver Number system .... that just jump from 561.09 to 565.90 .... in 1 driver update

Where there really 4.81 failed interim drivers - that were never released?  I'd love to see the flowchart on Nvidia's revision controls

Known Issues
  • Short 3 second black screen on alt-tab from game to desktop in Windows 11 24H2. [4722079]

Nvidia must be hiring from the Microsoft pond, fix one thing & break another

Numbering probably due to upcoming 24H2.

Thanks for the heads-up RJ.

I was thinking the samething Cool GTX about the big number jump without it being a whole new Driver tree.

There's also an update to the NVIDIA app taking it to v10.0.3.152 with a few niceties (overlay, multi-monitor HDR, etc.). Strange thing with this GeForce driver update through the NVIDIA app though, my 4090 machine picks it up but my 3090 rig doesn't. I downloaded 565.90 from NVIDIA but it insists it wants to install GeForce Now and I cannot uncheck it via a custom setup (and when it first starts, there is no radio buttons asking if you want GeForce Now either). Anyway, it's something to whinge about whilst both machines update to 24H2 I suppose (gets to 81% reasonably quickly and then slows down to the speed of molasses).

So what's up with that new Nvidia app?  Last I paid attention it was supposed to still be in beta and missing a bunch of stuff.  I've been using the NV control panel that we always had just to set some specific 3D settings for a handful of games.  Does that new app allow the same? or is it just a new GFE?

use NVCleanstall to reinstall your Nvidia driver  (built by the same guys as GPU-Z)

I've been using NVCleanstall for a long time, love the ability to limit the Nvidia (bloatware & telemetry)....

It lets you set the Nv driver install & only install the items you want on your PC

One issue I had with this driver is random freezing while playing God of War Ragnarok. Right after installing these I started getting freezing during the game. The audio kept playing, but video froze. I went back to previous driver and the issue went away.

Yeah I'm skipping this one.  Supposedly the VRR issue that was introduced a couple of drivers before this one was fixed in this one, but many users with the same series of LG monitor I have are reporting it's not, so I'm gonna wait for the next one.  I did have to update from 552.44 that I was on because Diablo IV complained I was on too old of a driver when the expansion launched on Monday so I went to 556.12 for now and still working great.
