I wonder if this is their general behavior, or if it's just an outlier.

If I recall, there was another person who had a similar experience getting their 4090 FE replacement with a bent bracket - that's why I filmed myself unpacking it. Nothing better than video evidence if a company is just trying to pass off a physically damaged card to someone else (if that is the case here - I still have the serial number, but no idea how to get a hold of that person. That serial number ends with 6766).

Wow... yeah with EVGA gone we the consumers lose so hard. Most companies do not even have to try to compete with them in that area anymore...

Today, in case of a repair, even with a warranty, I'm ready to send my card to an autonomous service instead of to the manufacturer.

I'm curious what your replacement looks like.

Update! All is well so far! The second replacement came in a box designed for four GPUs, and had padding on all sides! It was marked as a refurbished unit on the ESD bag, but looks brand spanking new.

Got it installed and will see if the problem lies with the 4090 architecture/drivers, because both my 3090 FTW3 Ultra and 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid had no issues with Dolby Atmos whilst I waited.

Out of the box clocks are quite a bit better than my original. Just bumping up the power/temp and voltage limit to max and it goes over 2820MHz on the core in my test bed, High on Life (finished it up on the 3090 Ti while I waited). The old one was in the 2600 range and only hit mid to low 2700 when adding a stable OC.

Popped a quick and dirty +150 +1000 OC and it almost hits 3GHz.... sheesh!

And no Dolby Atmos issues so far (it'll take a few days to be 100% certain, since the old card it was quite intermittent).
