Well it turned out to be a bad monitor. In 30 years of working on PCs I've never had a bad monitor to cause a system to post beep. They either work or they don't. Go figure ... Thanks for all of your help. EVGA Strong! Cheers!
good to see you figured out it was only a monitor issue
I'd bet that a video ground wire was seeing some sort of voltage being fed to MB or that a hot terminal was shorted
