looks like it will be a new socket oof

"According to the details, the Intel LGA 2551 socket for Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake CPUs will have exact measurements of 38mm x 46mm and will only be slightly bigger than the existing LGA 1700 / 1800 socket which means those 2551 pins might be packed tightly compared to current designs so that the socket doesn't take a whole lot of space on mainstream platforms."

Dang that's wild they're changing sockets so fast. Remember back in the day a socket would last 3 or 4 gens

I was betting Classy $699, KP $899. I'd hope for cheaper, but what in the world has gotten cheaper the last couple years? lol

Well...I was half right so far.

Was this link for the Z790 classified? And if so was there a price listed and if so how much?

Im also waiting for this board to come out EVGA please send some units to EVGA Europe website so we the European costumers can buy it as well.

PS to any one is a i9-13900K overkill for the Z790 Classified for mainly gaming or should i just go with the i7-13700K? Planning to use the rig for at least 5 years or longer. So the cpu needs to be holding its own for 5 years without upgrade.

Was classified. $699. Can’t help you with the cpu selection - either will satisfy you for gaming, but if you’re already spending $700 on a board, might as well go with the i9?

Like me, most people don't need the i9-13900k, but if you are buying a motherboard that costs $800, probably you won't be satisfied with cheap cooler, ssd and so on. If you are purchasing the best components, why save $200 on the main one? If I wanted to save money on my PC  build, the first component I'd cut costs is the motherboard.

The real question now is do I just get the discounted z690 Kingpin or wait for a z790 Classy
