Z390, Z490 and Z590 Dark boards have only had two DIMMs, so that's not the case.

The 2 DIMMs are for better overclocking on the RAM.

I would love to get the newest EVGA motherboard but I'll wait till I can buy an EVGA 3080TI FTW or XC at MRSP. That will probably not be until Raptor Lake comes out!

Hi all,

Maybe a silly question...

In regards of the PCI-E x16 slots do they both run the FULL bandwith on both these EVGA Z690 MB's? Reason for asking is i might watercool the cpu and gpu however in my current EVGA MB i had to use angled fittings (and i am not a fan of angled rotary fittings) in order to use tubing from cpu to gpu the distance is to short to allow me to use regular straight fittings. Is the second pci x16 running at x8 or full x16? (only using ONE GPU so NO SLI) If so i can use the second pci slot to use the gpu for watercooling.

EDIT gosh i saved money for the Alder lake cpu and all the things that comes with it incl MB, PSU, M2 ssd but the GPU market is so so bad with the current prices should i wait for the upcomming rtx 4000 series or still get a rtx 3000 IF they get to normal msrp prices will that happen within a couple of months or is this to much wishfull thinking?

At least on the Z590 Dark the top slot is X16 and the bottom is X8, and both would be X8 in SLI.  Would assume the Z690 would be the same.

Wait for the 4000 series the new gpus are going to have a new power connector. And will more and likely need a new style power supply as well. So basically with 12 gen and ddr5 got to build from scratch. Only can re use ssd/storage, case and ram if your fine with dd4
