Dear Jacob-
As a loyal customer of EVGA since 2009, I find the process of buying a 30 series video card slightly daunting.  I've had 3 video cards in my queue since EVGA made an effort to have a waiting list available to their customers.  I received an email on 10/6/21 asking me to please pick 2 of the 3 that are in my queue, I have logged on the website only to find that my queue lists none of the 3 cards I am in line for.  What is the status of my queue, why are my choices not in my queue anymore?

Please advise,
Dean DalDegan

Thank you for asking for and listening to our feedback on all this, Jacob (and EVGA in general).  Obviously the best way to deal with bots is as much verification/screening as is possible or viable, so I appreciate the sms verification.  I'd like to see even more along these lines in the future, but I don't know what solutions are available that won't require too many resources to keep things profitable for you guys, but I hope you're exploring whatever options along these lines that would make sense for you as a company.  And any solutions that actually work to screen out bots from the ordering process in general would be nice so that they can't get in the notify queue to begin with.  I don't have the technical knowledge to provide answers to that, but others here have offered solutions.  Captcha is obviously too easy for bots to get around.

I'd also like to put out there (as many others have in many forum posts) that there has got to be some way to prevent the sites from crashing during new product launches.  Renting infrastructure from companies that provide that on launch days and whatnot would seem like a good idea since your servers will get overloaded every time.  Having the forums operate on a different system would be really nice, too, since they always go down when the store page goes down due to too much traffic.

Oh, and I think it would be fantastic if you guys add a couple more features to the queue:

1) Give us the ability to see where we are in the queue.  This option is available with other companies using similar systems, so I'm not sure what the reasons are behind not letting us do that at this point.  I'm guessing you have them, but I don't know what they are.

2) Send us an automated email when we're approaching the front of the queue (especially if #1 above isn't an option for whatever reason).  Given that some people have been in the queue for a year or more at this point, and nearly everyone spends at the very least several months in it, it would be really nice if we got a sort of heads-up when we were getting close so we'd know to keep an extra eye out for an email from EVGA.  I realize that you guys can't provide exact dates for when we'd get to the front of the queue, and that's fine, but just knowing that sometime roughly in the next couple of weeks we'd be likely to get to the front would be really nice.  I've had multiple friends miss out on their spot because they were busy when their notify happened.  Two of them were healthcare workers who were literally working like 16 hour days multiple days in a row trying to save people's live and help them in the middle of a pandemic, and they simply went a couple of days without checking their email and missed the bus as a result.  Expanding the window to 20 hours was a nice move, but something along the lines of a "heads-up, you're getting close to the front of the queue" email would be really nice addition as well.

I just found about this queue. Is there anyway that I can get into it? I am looking for a 3090. Thank you much!

No. This was in the first post in this thread.

3.    The queue system will not be turned back on until the current queues are fulfilled.

Unfortunately, at the present time EVGA has closed all GPU auto notifies (queues).  No one knows when or if they will reopen.  If EVGA can clear the present queues, then they may reopen.

To give it to you "with the bark still on it," the queues are so long now, that it may be many months or more before they would reopen.

No, current Queue is locked ... until those already in the Queue get their card .... demand is very high, supply comes in bunches

I am not sure of the recent rule changes and the move from an 8 hour window to a 20 hour window has changed EVGA's willingness to "rehabilitate" an invite to purchase email, but in the past if you missed your window, you could reply to the email (it would have come from ordernotify@evga.com) and in your reply indicate your desire to purchase the card. In the past, EVGA would send you a new email (containing a new link to buy) in a day or three -- i.e., when they had that SKU back in stock. It might be worth it to your multiple friends to try that method if they are still interested in the cards that they missed purchasing. Best of luck!

3080 TIs:

10G-P5-3888-KL 12/10/2020 3:54:29  niche hydro/hybrid, low likelihood
10G-P5-3897-KL 12/1/2020 11:48:18  BEST BET 2
10G-P5-3883-KR 12/1/2020 11:47:09  unlikely to drop
10G-P5-3885-KL 12/1/2020 8:43:04   RUNNER UP

Edit2: Checked queue times - ****. The two "best bets" I have in the system (3885, 3897) are still MONTHS away from my notification date.. Should I hold onto a 3080 TI?

See my notes inside the quoted post.  If you need a card and want something soon, then that will be the 3080 Ti... my guess.

Thanks for the helpful advice. Took me a bit to find where you put the notes - the text all blended in.

Appreciate the help!

Edit: ended up going with "Best Bet 2" and "Runner up" - I can't justify the $500 more for a 3080 TI vs. the 10-15% increase. I have a 2060 super that's still doing fine, so I'm not desperate.
