Colorful vbios shows evga hows it's done...

Thanks for confirming as well. I'm going to wait for EVGA to fix the issue on their end before flashing another brand vBIOS but good to know there is a known working vBIOS so should be an easy fix. It honestly just looks like they forgot to change something in the vBIOS to actually allow for the 516w limit vs just labeling it 516w.

No problem.

I tried the Colorful BIOS and didn't see the wattage go above 460W under load (Superpostiion benchmark). How are you guys getting 500W+ usage? I tried all the regular benchmarks and it never goes beyond 450-460W - even with the "stock" BIOS on the FTW3 Ultra.

You gotta overclock the card to it’s limits, and run a stressful benchmark such as cyberpunk 2077. Make sure you use stressful settings for cyberpunk too. My settings are posted here... https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/3530216

My old 3090 benchmark, and new 3090 ti benchmark results can be found in that thread too.

If you really want to see the wattage go up with the Colorful bios try The Division 2 or Borderlands 3. It will consistently stick to 490-510w with spikes of +516w.

They won't fix consumption on 3090Ti. As we've been waiting for such a fix for 3080Ti for ages, just from the start of the card. None is here. The only way is to use other vendors vbios, 1000 Wtt HOF for 3080ti.
So don't be optimistic with the fix.

they may not fix it but with respect to the 3080 and 3090 it is a problem here it is a badly programmed bios.

I've had 3 3090 evga ftw3 ultra and I know what I'm talking about.

So the 3090ti xoc bios is pointless to flash right now?

Might be. I had no problem with 3080 (not Ti), it hit 450 Wtt easily with its "analog" power management on the board. But you know, they say that EVGA bioses from Ti and 3090 work fine on other vendors 3-plug cards. So it can be an issue with the board. This theory can be also reinforced with the fact that 1000 Wtt bios from HOF reveals exatly the same issue with power distribution over 3 plugs as we have on stock EVGA bioses.
