Hey all. I didn't get a response here earlier and EVGA support just looped me back to this forum. I'm struggling to find a BIOS link for my EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 24G-P5-3978-KR. My card came with BIOS Version 94.02.42.C0.15 installed and I'm wondering if there are newer available and/or alternate options to improve performance. I've since flashed my BIOS to what was listed in this thread and I now have 94.02.42.80.C2 which I believe is an older version. Now I can't find a file to update to the newer one I had, assuming it was really newer/better. I saved a backup using GPU-Z but I'm not sure how to flash using just the rom file. Both of these BIOS versions are listed on the TechPowerup webpage for my card.

In looking at GPU-Z I do see a few differences in things like Pixel Fillrate, Texture Fillrate, Bandwidth and the GPU/Default CLock with this "older" bios having higher #'s.

I also had slightly higher scores in Port Royale and Superposition Medium although could just be run to run differences... TimeSpy and TimeSpy Extreme are roughly the same. It feels like FPS is better in Halo Infinite (when the OSD is actually working). These all could be driver related differences too as I've recently updated that.

I just did it lol figured it wouldn't be difficult and it wasn't.  I just followed the instructions.  I restarted my system twice to make sure csm(switched uefi)and fast boot remained off.  Downloaded the file and followed the on-screen prompts which are in the directions above.

Yup, did mine yesterday. After installation I had a slight problem with BIOS, I just had to upgrade the original OC BIOS to the newer ones. Other than that everything went smoothly, other than me installing the rad fans as exhaust out of the front. Either way, there is big improvements. My glass next to my card use to be burning hot, at least this Hybrid gets the heat out of the case better instead of throwing it inside the case. Very happy, except I was reading an article on here and some guy purchased aftermarket cooling brackets for the GPU and MEM. Supposedly, this helped cool the memory down substantially. I am doing more research on it currently.

NM went ahead and did it.

Used the file "4898.zip" file under the 3080 LHR section and the regular (non XOC) 3080 FTW hybrid link.

Disabled fast boot in my motherboard BIOS.

Rebooted twice to be safe.

Flashed the ROM. Rebooted. Windows botted into a very low res like I didn't have GPU drivers, but after a few seconds I heard the hardware detected sound from windows and my res went back to normal and GFE showed up in system tray. Ran X1 it said a firmware update was available. I pressed update. Fans instantly went to 100 percent, the 3 power LED's went red but the progress bar was going just fine. It finished, I rebooted again, and now it's showing as a FTW3 Ultra Hybrid.

Temps are excellent, this is idle but even when running Time Spy extreme GPU temp peaks at ~55c

Only one question. Is it normal for fan 1 (the fan on GPU for cooling the VRM's) to always spin? It's not spinning at a high speed or anything (30 percent). Just wondering if it's supposed to have the fan stop feature. Before I flashed the Hybrid BIOS and had just installed the hybrid upgrade kit that fan would be at 0 percent (not sure if it ever even spun up since my GPU hasn't hit 60c since installing the hybrid kit).

Also could I flash one of the ROM's from the zip that has "XOC/REBAR" while my card is in the OC slot position? If so what's the difference between the two ROM files that come with the version labeled XOC? Do both have the higher power limit, and the OC ROM of the XOC version just has a more aggressive fan curve? I probably won't bother as I'm plenty happy with the performance I get and the temps but just curious.

I could be remembering wrong (I installed the hybrid kit only for a week but later took it off). On my X1, fan 1 is for radiator fans (which should always be spinning). And fan on the actual hybrid kit will only spin under load (zero RPM mode was still there for me).
I think both have 118% PL, OC version on XOC file is still a more aggressive fan profile (like fan always spin, no zero RPM mode)

Weird. Mine is the opposite. Fan 1 is the VRM fan (fan on the card) and fan 2 is the radiator fans. The rad fans slow to a stop, I'm assuming until the GPU hits 60c but I literally can't get my GPU to hit that temp anymore. But they work fine if I manually adjust their speed. Highest I can hit when running MSI Kombustor or 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme burn in test is ~56c. However, the fan on the card (for cooling the VRM heatsinks mainly) won't go below 30 percent. Even if I try to force it using X1. Or even Afterburner which has a option to try to force zero RPM but even that can't get the fan on the card below 30 percent. I'm not upset because it's not audible at all at that level (it's spinning at 800 RPM).

I would prefer it to be the other way around though where the radiator fans never stop completely because I had to mount the radiator in the front of my case as intake (the fans that came with it are mounted on the radiator inside the case, and my 2 140mm front case fans are in front of it both pulling air into the case). So it would be nice to have the radiator fans always spinning, even at just a low speed to help with pulling in cool air for my air CPU cooler (Deepcool Assassin III).

Before flashing the hybrid bios the radiator fans never completely stopped but the fan on the card would.

Sounds like I could switch the cards BIOS switch to the OC position to have the radiator fans always spin and never completely stop. As long as it doesn't make the fan speed much louder when gaming since with the switch in the normal position it already keeps the card so cool. I flashed the regular FTW3 Ultra Hybrid VBIOS (not the XOC version) but did flash the regular FTW3 Ultra Hybrid VBIOS for the standard mode and the OC BIOS mode.

Does anyone know if there's a working bios for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid (converted) yet?  I've been waiting since it's release for a bios that actually lets you control the fans instead of jet engine mode with 33% minimum while idling at the desktop.  I'm stuck with the air cooled firware since it's the only way to control the fans (blows my mind that air cooled can run lower fans than hybrid!)

Depends if your card is an OC card or not as to which bios.
Check the DeviceID in GPU-Z or PX1.  If you see near the "3842", the 3090OC cards will say "3981" for FTW3, "3982" for FTW3 ULTRA, and "3983" for HYBRID.
Once that's established, select the BIOS you need accordingly.. (click on the 'spoiler' links on that post). To convert from 'regular' ICX to Hybrid:

EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 HYBRID override BIOS
These BIOS are used to flash your regular 3090 FTW3/FTW3 ULTRA cards to act like a HYBRID card.  Don't flash these unless you've confirmed which type of card you have, and whether you want a Resizable BAR BIOS:

TURN OFF "FAST BOOT" IN YOUR MOTHERBOARD BIOS.

DISABLE CSM IN YOUR MOTHERBOARD BIOS BEFORE FLASHING A REBAR BIOS.

From 3090OC Cards to :

From original FTW3 cards - includes ReBAR - to:

From original FTW3 cards - without ReBAR - to:

Thanks Nereus - and to confirm, these latest bios for the hybrid have unlock fans that I can lower below 33% like the air cooled bios?

That I can't answer sorry - I went from ICX to water block.
