NM went ahead and did it.
Used the file "4898.zip" file under the 3080 LHR section and the regular (non XOC) 3080 FTW hybrid link.
Disabled fast boot in my motherboard BIOS.
Rebooted twice to be safe.
Flashed the ROM. Rebooted. Windows botted into a very low res like I didn't have GPU drivers, but after a few seconds I heard the hardware detected sound from windows and my res went back to normal and GFE showed up in system tray. Ran X1 it said a firmware update was available. I pressed update. Fans instantly went to 100 percent, the 3 power LED's went red but the progress bar was going just fine. It finished, I rebooted again, and now it's showing as a FTW3 Ultra Hybrid.
Temps are excellent, this is idle but even when running Time Spy extreme GPU temp peaks at ~55c
Only one question. Is it normal for fan 1 (the fan on GPU for cooling the VRM's) to always spin? It's not spinning at a high speed or anything (30 percent). Just wondering if it's supposed to have the fan stop feature. Before I flashed the Hybrid BIOS and had just installed the hybrid upgrade kit that fan would be at 0 percent (not sure if it ever even spun up since my GPU hasn't hit 60c since installing the hybrid kit).
Also could I flash one of the ROM's from the zip that has "XOC/REBAR" while my card is in the OC slot position? If so what's the difference between the two ROM files that come with the version labeled XOC? Do both have the higher power limit, and the OC ROM of the XOC version just has a more aggressive fan curve? I probably won't bother as I'm plenty happy with the performance I get and the temps but just curious.
I could be remembering wrong (I installed the hybrid kit only for a week but later took it off). On my X1, fan 1 is for radiator fans (which should always be spinning). And fan on the actual hybrid kit will only spin under load (zero RPM mode was still there for me).
I think both have 118% PL, OC version on XOC file is still a more aggressive fan profile (like fan always spin, no zero RPM mode)
