Hey,
@EVGATech_LeeM
If, for some reason the bios update fails (stuck at update, or fast boot enabled, or csm enabled) and I get a black screen at boot, is it possible to fix it by plugging the monitor at the motherboard onboard graphics and reflashing it in windows? Or maybe the display driver won't appear anymore to perform the reflash? I'm asking this because I have a 3080 XC3 and I have just one bios, if anything goes wrong (like an unlucky power surge), one would have to RMA the card, and that's a long process, so if there is a way to fix it by booting with integrated graphics it would be awesome, because right now I'm kind of hesitant in flashing it and something going wrong. I already have CSM and fast boot disabled, but still scared to flash it, so many people had problems in the past with this process.
Thanks!
I mean, it depends on how badly the flash went. If you still have picture and can boot into Windows, you're probably fine and might just be having a driver issue. If it's completely bricked, then it's RMA time. Short of that (like no display, but the card appears to be working), you can try to force flash it with some command line arguments.
Hey @EVGATech_LeeM,
Thanks for the fast response, but you didn't quite answer exactly what I asked which is my main concern. In the case of a failed vbios update for any reason where you get no display output, can I use the integrated graphics on my motherboard to boot and try to reflash the card? Or for example, if someone forgets to disable CSM and flashes the vbios and don't get picture, can't they just use another gpu or the igpu (if available) to boot and disable it? or it doesn't work like that?
Thank you.
