Regarding to overclockers the black has even lower power limit , not sure if now it was increased , where can i find latest bios files

I can flash the xc3 ultra bios ofcourse and i believe it is the exact same card just with backplate , question is does that void warranty ?

AFAIK, the ultra has a higher binned chip as well as the backplate.

AFAIK, the ultra has a higher binned chip as well as the backplate.

So it's just clocked higher via the bios. I think you'd be fine as long as it's another xc3 bios as far as I know but it's def worth asking someone from EVGA first. Not sure how much extra performance it's gonna get you.

I hit 463w on a 450w bios and if I wasn't chasing the dragon with port royal and time spy I'd be fine with that as I've seen negligible difference in game.

I reverted to an early August driver and got my performance back.

That was about the time I noticed the performance dip. Do you remember which driver version you reverted to? I’m tempted to do the same.

I may experiment with even older ones later if I get a chance, but this is what got me back to 14600s from 14000 in PR. I thought I was losing my mind and I was reading setting for 2 weeks till this last driver came out and I had an "AHA!" moment.

Thanks. I’ll experiment with that version this weekend. Still annoying that some updates increase performance while others decrease it. I’m no software engineer, but I wouldn’t put it past the all-encompassing drivers Nvidia releases as being the culprit for decreases in particular. Really wish they’d chop them down to card series so I don’t have to download a 700+ MB file every time. After all, Comcast has been threatening to instill a download cap before having to pay extra. The last thing I need is to go over a potential cap due to drivers. Then again, games like War Zone can’t be patched without seemingly downloading the entire game again, but that’s a whole different topic.

Has anyone had the issue, where you've received a 3090OC from RMA, which still doesn't work with the 500W BIOS?
