Do we still not have a working 450w BIOS for the 3080 LHR ftw3? Pretty disappointing this card maxes out at 105% pwr limit.

There’s 3080 FTW3 LHR BIOS on the first page of this thread. I installed it on mine last week when I got the card, and the power slider now goes to 118%.

Could you link which one you used? I have tried a few now and it keeps giving me a "Your firmware is up to date" message. Nothing seems to be working :(

EDIT - NVM GOT ONE TO WORK WOOO. If anyone else is having issues with LHR 3080 BIOS flashes, I would suggest trying this if it matches your card model. I think clarification on the original post is poor for most people. It references flashing the card "back" to it's original state, implying it would be factory settings. This bios flash however changed my factory bios and upgraded it to the 450w, and I now have 118%.

That SKU in the bios you referenced is a non-LHR card though. Are you sure you have an LHR card? Your sku would end in KL

After using 4897_OC_450W_ovu on my FTW 3080 LHR, I booted up precision and it prompted for an app update, and then a firmware update.  Did it just downgrade the firmware that I just installed on the card?  Is there a way for me to verify what is the current firmware and if its the right one?

GPUz would be the best way I can think of off the top of my head.

This is the flashed bios, it says 400W maximum.  Is the OC or did X1 override it and update it when i was prompted?

So here's the best way I've seen to flash a bios. In the MB bios, turn off fast boot, Flip the switch to whichever bios you want to flash (oc/quiet) and boot up. Once it's done and fully booted up, load up the bios flasher you downloaded and flash the right XOC bios TO THAT switch. Shut down, switch the physical bios switch again, and repeat for the other bios. I did the same thing and almost RMAd a good board. Also, your driver is out of date, it seems.

My OC flashed bios on the 3090 shows default 420W and maximum 500W in GPU-Z, which is what it should be showing, but it seems to treat the default power limit as maximum (or close to it) and throttles the crap out of the GPU instantly if it goes anywhere beyond 420W, rather than gradually ramping up. Same with minimum temp limit at 65C - I guess that's where it is also supposed to start throttling, but it throttles really heavily rather than gradually if it gets anywhere close to 65C. Not sure if the culprit just one of them being overzealous or both, or maybe they both kick in and double up?

I hate to say it but the issue with the 3080 LHR hybrid conversion BIOS has been talked about for months now.. and there's still no solution. Some updates would be nice :P

Flashing ftw3 ultra LHR with the XOC bios (EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR (10G-P5-3897-KL) [XOC/ReBAR]) didn't increase power draw, as tested in furmark. It did let me slide power to 118% but the power draw didn't change compared to the original OC vbios. I have flashed the vbios back and forth to confirm. Anyone else has this issue?

Just out of curiosity, if somebody has a 3080 TI FTW3 and wants to do the Hybrid conversion, is there an updated bios for that? Or has there just been issues with those converting to Hybrid kit who have a 3080?

Lastly,

If I wanted to take my GPU apart to repaste, and replace with upgraded thermal pads, does that void warranty ?

Just lookin for that “lil extra” 😁
Thanks!
