I've heard its possible on NVIDIA, but not if it specifically if it works for EVGA, 3080s, FTW3, not found anything specific.
I do have CSM disabled now. But might have been that or fast boot that caused the issue with my NORMAL bios in the first place.

Might be worth it to give EVGA a call in the morning.  They may be able to walk you through recovery steps.  Might've been CSM that disallowed the firmware flash to process fully or something like that.  Unfortunately, I can't find the reference I was looking for and don't want to steer you wrong.

Question, regarding the XOC that ships with the 3080 Ti FTW3, is it the most recent?

So i just flashed mine following the steps, everything was good. I went to vbios and there's an update. I should update the vbios with no issues right???

Probably not. Check PX1 in the ReBAR menu. It will show “Update” next to the vBIOS version if there is one.

Make sure Fast Boot and CSM is disabled in your motherboard BIOS first.

well it appears that the vbios server seems to lose connection resulting in faux update notifs, as I had already earlier this afternoon actually updated. Now when I switch bios and/or reboot it gives the false update notif, so perhaps another PX1 update is in order?

The update was released with PX1 1.2.3. Try that version or 1.2.4. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be the first time lately that EVGA has had issues with its main site and the forums, so maybe the update server is borked at the moment.

Hello!
I've just picked up another 3090 XC3 Ultra and this one seems to have a newer BIOS ... Is it worth updating my original card?
Original Card BIOS - 94.02.42.80.C1
New card BIOS - 94.02.42.C0.10

Thanks!

Can't figure it out.. got +1000 on mem, +210 on GPU, holds fine under load, temp never gets over mid 50's on GPU or 60C on GPU mem on full load running AIDA64 stability test for extended periods, runs on that load at 1.05V, 420W peak, throttles slightly from 2200MHz down to 2175MHz. I'm using OC bios. I put it on FurMark and the thing throttles almost immediately all the way down from 2200MHz to 1700MHz even though temp is still only 50C on GPU, 58C on GPU memory, wattage at 418W peak, power 0.785V... why the fork is it throttling so hard and cutting the power? Runs Port Royal & Time Spy, but throttles a bit there too. 3090 FTW Ultra (3987) with EKWB block on it. Does the bios think it's still an ICX card and throttles the crap out of it? No reason for it to throttle so hard at such low temps and voltage. GPU-Z PerfCap Reason: Pwr..  limited by total power limit.. It's nowhere near the supposed 500W limit.

I didn't write any of these programs people use or engineer the hardware but I think things are working as they expect. (we are all guessing unless we are those people)  I have nothing to back this up but I feel the hardware will decide what it needs based on the what the software is demanding. (or vise versa)  People, go play videogames.  Put a few hundred hours into something you enjoy and use the hardware. Or don't and spend way too much time on forums never getting the answers you need or want. (mostly just a bunch of BS from people who also spend too much time with their confirmation bias) It does not matter how your card/system performs under stress tests or benchmarks if games behave differently so go frag something already. My card has pulled 460W and that was just by playing The Ascent with friends for a few hours.
