Just got a 3080 (10G-P5-3897-KL) and have noticed two things. 1) The stock OC BIOS allows for the fans to drop to 0 RPM, and 2) the 450W XOC BIOS is only showing a max of 410W (up from 398.8W with stock OC BIOS) that was recorded by HWiNFO. That’s after increasing the power slider to max after flashing the BIOS to XOC. Not sure if the firmware update I was prompted with by PX1 1.2.5 has anything to do with the fans dropping to 0, but I wouldn’t dismiss it as a possibility. Also, one of the fans chirps and/or sputters at lower RPM speeds. Pretty sure that last part is unrelated to the BIOS and power draw, but still annoying.

im already download  and extract 4897_Normal_450W_ovu.exe but i got this error message
ERROR: Unable to set-up NVFLASH driver (0x00000005)
Detailed :Access is denied.
Please note this error and contact your display adapter manufacturer's
technical support line. It is important that you leave your system ON and NOT
reboot until instructed by your manufacturer on how to proceed.
Press any key to exit...

Access denied? Do you have Fast Boot and CSM disabled in your motherboard BIOS? Also, are you running any anti-virus software? When I flashed my 3080 BIOS to XOC just a short while ago, Windows was like, “Hold up! Are you sure you want to run this .exe?!” I said yes, but then my anti-virus software was like, “Hold up! This .exe looks dangerous!” I dismissed that warning also, and the update then proceeded without issue.

Ok finally got my hands on a 3080 FTW3 ultra.
Ran some benchmarks stock and tested out the aux fan header etc then decided to flash the XOC bios from this thread:
Rebooted and ran some benchmarks but still saw the same basic power usage of around ~380W with spikes up to 390-400w.
At this point the AUX fans were still working properly, crank fans to 100% in afterburner, all fans including the AUX fans went to 100%.
So trying to figure out the reason for the power limit not increasing, I install Precision X1. It updated the firmware and now the aux fans are stuck at ~20% (barely spinning) nor do they show up in X1 as being plugged in.
How can I revert the firmware update and get the XOC bios power limit working?

I found this program that can force flash a firmware but I can't make sense of the naming of the firmware files to figure out which one is for my card.

These are the names of the firmware that is in the precision firmware folder, any idea which one would match up with a 3897-kl?

If I could find the right model I could work my way back through the firmware version until I found the one that worked.

Tried the FTW3 Ultra LHR to Hybrid Bios posted on the previous page and still received the "The display adapter firmware is up to date." message. :(

Hello. I received my RMA 3090 FTW 3 Ultra Hybrid . It has revised pcb1.0. the oc bios only pulls about 460 watt max and when i try to flash the old unlokced oc bios  on here it doesnt give the 119% option. Is there any bios that can unlock the 500 watt limit for me. Kindest Regards

Is it possible to boot using 1 set of firmware (OC Mode/Switch to OC) but update the firmware on the Normal/Switch to NORMAL, or to specify to update the NORMAL verison of the firmware by software?
I can not boot to my OC firmware after a bad update, but OC (not updated/default rebar) is fine.
But I want to restore my backup firmware.
Installing a 2nd GPU does not work. Video goes to the 2nd GPU as long as the 3080 is set to OC firmware, but as soon as its switched to Normal, black screen only and GPU error from the MB, even outputting to the 2nd GPU.

I thought I saw somebody mention hotswapping to reflash the bios (i.e. while the PC is on with the working bios, hit the switch on the GPU to the non-working and reflash via nvflash), but I haven't personally tried it.  Trying to find that post now.  Also, do you have disabled CSM in the mobo bios?

I've heard its possible on NVIDIA, but not if it specifically if it works for EVGA, 3080s, FTW3, not found anything specific.
I do have CSM disabled now. But might have been that or fast boot that caused the issue with my NORMAL bios in the first place.
