Thing with 14th gen is this, you can get a huge boost in performance with a gen II features on lower end hardware through its AI assistance. Or if you have all top end hardware the 14th gen cpu and ram and you are chasing synthetic benchmarks you will get a huge boost in performance with the assistance of AI faster than what a human alone can do and on the fly. It's how those records are being broken right now on cpu and ram speeds. Then there is using it to help manage your core clocks with the voltage and temps. If you already have a 12th or 13th gen already dialed in/configured for optimal performance and are just gaming to doing basic benches, already have awesome temps 14th gen is a little lack luster.
Then a gen II boards have an extra chip to let you micromanage the PCIE lane bandwidth if you have a bunch of M.2's manually setting what drive gets X amount of the pcie bandwidth.
The reviewers did an abysmal job even GN, was like plop the 14th gen in this gen I z790 or Gen II z790 while not touching a thing and saying it sucks yet we didn't use this hardware or its features if we actually used a gen II board to its full potential. Also the AIO's some plopped on 14th gen was comical pre 2021 AIO's that got beat by others back then being used on 14th gen.... You really want one of the EK Nucleus's or one of the asetek gen 8's even though the asetek gen 8's are not as good as EK's, the gen 8's are close enough for gaming and running something simple like 3DMark.

On 12th gen ideal ram speed since all you can really get on ddr5 is up to 6000-6400mhz on average with a CL30 or higher. Is using DDR4 4000mhz CL14-16 B-die out of the box since on a 12th gen K cpu it will run that ram/imc in gear 1 its even closer to the performance of ddr5 7200mhz cl34 on a 13th gen than a 12th gen running one of the ddr5 kits I described. It's all about those 1% fps lows if you want to run Cyberpunk 2077 like I do it's the difference between micro stutters dipping blow 60 fps or not getting them and keeping above 60fps. Also your frame time going so high its horrible or not. If you can keep it at 9-16 you are good. Once you dip below 60 fps in cyberpunk 2077 at my settings frame time fly's up to the mid to high 20's ruining the whole gaming experience on top of the micro stutters.
Happy Halloween to you too.

Well to be honest I never liked the EVGA discord the forums seem far more mature tbh.
@cutter32 good luck with your build man, I am surprised the EVGA forums are still around.

As for me no new builds fora long shot, I am,meagerly waiting for ZEN5, no Duallies from me tho that is all way out of my reach as funding would go.
my 5900X and the Nitro+ RX Vega 64 will keep me occupied for some time, as for the Nitro+ RX 6800 XT SE that one has been RMA's they said it will take 4 to 8 weeks which is stupid, seeing how careless companies actually are, if you buy from them they will make sure your item arrives with ion 24 to 48 hours but if you have to send something back, yea good luck with that.

So I kind of moved back to Retro PC rebuilds and retro gaming alongside collecting diecast metal scale 1:200 B747's A380's & A340's.
All because computer parts are extremely expensive nowadays and that will only get worse as time progresses.

Thank you donta1979, and Gold Leader .  I like the EVGA forum, and will continue to use it as long as it's around .
I hope everyone else here does too
I have done my 14900K cpu upgrade, and posted some stuff about it on my New Computer thread if you care to see it .
Happy holidays, and keep on computing, gents. :)

At the rate of how things are going that future does not look hopeful sadly. Glad your new system is good to go enjoy.

Still enjoying my setup and cannot wait for the 2.1 Cyberpunk 2077 update. -.- Going to be wild.
