Well with the upgrade of the Ultrawide 1440p display, I was not able to play CP 2077 on anything below performance or I would hit vram limits, no idea why, or how, or why the fastest cars in that game would get yeeted at DLSS Quality or Balanced at that resolution but it happened. Seems the 3080 12gb at least has stopped that, no idea why. 3% extra cores or the 20% increase in bus speed resulting in more memory bandwidth and an extra 2gb of vram. Or it's a combination of all those things. Was hitting the 10200 range and hit the max max... normally when that happened FPS tanked to 14fps was not fun. So I have had to play the game in performance since around December of last year. Both pc’s will need power supplies as they won’t be upgraded again for a long time, to account for wear/degradation and loss of efficiency over the long run. The 1200 will go into my wife’s machine and so guess I will be needing/wanting a titanium 1300w…
System now has an EVGA RTX 3080 12GB FTW3 Ultra boost clock is 2077 without me overclocking. So pretty pleased, no more drops to 14 fps, no more car yeets in Cyberpunk 2077, not exceeding my vram now, also was not expecting a 4-13 FPS depending on the game.
The last crazy thing my Core i9 12900kf with enhanced Turbo on with some tweaking for a little more speed and my EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra also overclocked score I had to work for that put me in number 30 in the world for my config for a time was beaten with the same cpu and the 3080 12gb FTW3 Ultra on both CPU and GPU scores while both stock.
My wife's PC that was the Veteran on here "just the case" got my 3080 FTW3 Ultra. She was using an EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2. I was sort of rushed on have her pc up and going in two hours. So she got a 2hr build and like 20min worth of cable management.
