I like how EVGA has effectively cancelled the program for Europe without even feeling the need to comment.

If we don't hear anything this week they have reached their goal. I won't step-up but I will also never touch their stuff again.

IKR it's disgraceful. People were telling me EVGA customer support they're the best yada yada. Quite franky i'll just choose ASUS from now on.

So, I just called customer support and was told that EVGA in Europe has higher prices because they have no warehouses here and the cards are shipped directly from Hong-Kong. So the european prices are much higher. He also told me that the MSRP for the 3090FTW3 in europe is 2189€...

They want customers to use other etailers instead of using their store.

I could not believe this and asked him to check again, he just said I should contact them via mail instead. Which I did. I also asked him to check the forums and that we would love to have an official statement on this matter.

So to me that sounds like EVGA is almost abandoning the whole european market, except for retailers, which will be provided with cards, going on. But just speculation. Let's wait for something official.

I find that MSRP really hard to believe when a known high price retailer like Caseking offers a significantly lower price. But it's possible. If so, nobody should buy this card when you can get a much cheaper card with the same or better quality (Asus TUF/Strix/FE...).

At the same time, it's a disgrace how the price of the 3080 step-up was increased multiple times. Still waiting for that listed 3090 XC as well. But it will also be ridiculously priced, so who cares at this point.
Question, is it worth it to trade in my 2080S for an FTW3 for 300€+? Considering I will probably wait 6 months and better cards with more memory are out by then, I don't think so. This program is useless now.

Just wanted to order a 2080 super from megekko (NL) to use the step-up program, but after seeing that step-up price?!

Got an email from EVGA EU Support, bolded important parts, but take it with a grain of salt:

thank you for contacting our support.

We're sorry for the timely delay, because since the launch, our data base was overloaded
and therefore an update of that wasn't done properly yet.

But you are now seeing the card added to the list and therefore you can proceed with the Step-Up if you want.

Please take note, that this price will be adjusted during the process.
It is most likely not the final price, that you have seen yet.

But to make sure, that it will be looked on, we have forwarded to our Step-Up-Team and Management,
that they are able to adjust it accordingly.

If you have any further questions, don't hestitate and contact us again.

Best regards,

EVGA EU Customer Support

See to me that sounds like they’re only gonna hike the price up even more.
And the excuse of having no warehouses in Europe is mind boggling.
Why skip such a large part of the world all because you can’t store your cards?
I’m regretting getting a 2070S to step up with now but I guess I’m in too deep to turn back now.
Will be the last card I buy from EVGA in Europe that’s for sure.

**Edit** Just checked their store policy and it states that their VAT is based off their warehouse in the Netherlands. Why is everything getting shipped from Hong Kong? And why hasn't the store policy been amended if it’s the case that the Netherlands Warehouse has been abolished.

Having us paying these prices in the midst of a pandemic is a joke.

Whats the price at the moment? Too bad, seemed like a good option to continue gaming while waiting for the 3080 :(

Thanks for the update!

That gives me a bit of hope knowing that even though I've already started my Step Up that maybe they will reduce the price before it is all finalised........just hopefully not further increase it.

It is my assumption as well that the double VAT will be corrected. A buddy of mine from The Netherlands was shown the MSRP of €840,- incl. VAT while signing up for the 3080FTW3 step-up on September 17th. However I just signed up today and was shown the double VAT price of €1017,-.

In my opinion a reputable brand like EVGA wouldn't charge some customers €840,- and others much more, so they definitely should correct it.
