they're joking right ...... I could buy a brand new 3080 which is only 10-15% slower in gaming performance and it would still work out cheaper upgrading from my 2080ti which cost me £1,100.

Also seeing all the news articles online that the 3000 series are plagued with crashing to desktop errors and such. I am not that stupid to pay over the retail price for unstable hardware. I think if this isn't an error I will wait for the mid-generation iteration or get the new high end AMD cards.

That is 2.66 times the price of the 3080

Update: In their endless wisdom, EVGA decided to fix the issue by...    Changing the 3080 step-up price from 805.28€ to:

This whole process has been a complete joke from day one, disrespecting European customers. Jacob also ignoring any questions related to this on Twitter. On top no sign of the promised 3090 XC3. Getting really mad at this point.

Seems like those prices are the actual prices of the said products. if you look at their store 3000 ftw card the variants are insanely expensive.  1,839 exluding VAT for 3090 and 839 excluding vat for the 3080. when you include the VAT the prices are bang on what are in the drop down.

I think those prices in the shop actually include VAT and the "excluding VAT" is a mistake. Caseking is known to overcharge. They are easily the most expensive shop for PC parts in Germany.  Being that much more expensive for EVGA just does not make sense.

Wow, my jaw dropped when I saw EVGA's answer to the overpricing of the 3090 vs the 3080 was to raise the price of the 3080.

Some official clarification on the EU pricing would be nice. I appreciate EVGA are busy but this is important for me, and a lot of others, to know.

Would love an official statement as well, as I am about to return the card I am stepping up from. The whole step up program is devalued in a way that makes it useless. Guess I will go with anotjer vendor then. I do not waste more than 500€ or basically give away the card I am stepping up from, for free.

I would also like some clarification from EVGA on this as it affects not just the step ups but also buying outright from the EU store.

I appreciate our VAT rules can be confusing and moreso since they are ever changing now with the pandemic. But it would be good to know if this is a known issue they are aware of or if this is the actual price because then I can look elsewhere for the card.

Mods or EVGA staff could you give us some clarification? is this a pricing error or are these the confirmed prices for the step up?
