Well this is disappointing.  I suspect its good I have not received my new 2080 yet and been able to get in line and setup for the stepup.  Because if i want to be guaranteed a 30 series I may just need to go all out and step up to a 3090 if its more stable then the FTW3 3080.  Problem is thats 1k more..

Yeah, in XOC conditions. Not even close to the same thing as in a case with much higher temperatures.

Does your average pc-gamer use LN2 to cool their GPU? What if with 6xMLCC they would have gotten 500 more points compared to 6xPOSCAP.

My 3090 FTW3 Ultra is for sure 4 Poscap and 2 MLCC, from what I am hearing it is the 6 x Poscap cards that have the most problems, nVIDIA FE went above spec and had 4 Poscap and 2 MLCC like the 3090 FTW3 Ultra

It's weird since Asus flagships are offering highest clockspeeds (1935MHz) out of the box with 6xMLCC whereas FTW3 only offers you 2/4 with 1800MHz and has a higher price tag.
 
I would expect "AIB-flagships" to be more capable than FE.

seems like evga changed the ftw3 after the product photos were taken, or they were taken with a prototype. all the retail ftw3 cards seem to have 2x of the "good" caps

Jacob didn't address this at all during their livestream that just ended. I asked, and a whole bunch of other people asked.
