I have to say I do not understand what's that NU Audio Pro about. I have Nu Audio and want to upgrade. Using only headphones and only for gaming. Which one should I buy as an upgrade ? Is it one card or two cards?

So:

NU Audio Pro 7.1 (712-P1-AN21-KR) = NU Audio Pro (712-P1-AN11-KR) + NU Audio Pro Surround (712-P1-AN10-KR).

We will be selling each of those products separately.  You would want to wait for the NU Audio Pro to be released by itself.

I'm guessing the new Pro card did away with the front panel I/O connection?  I don't see it mentioned, or I may have missed it?

You are correct.  No front panel header.

2 days before this was released I was searching the internet for an expansion sold EMI shield to put between the graphics card and the audio card....

Will the Pro back plate fit the original card?

And will they be available for purchase?

No, the backplate will not fit the original card.  A number of differences, plus, they use different I/O brackets to accommodate the backplate.

I had to return my previous card due to coil whine from the graphics card, which I really wanted to keep because the audio reproduction was fantastic. Will this EMI shield on the back plate shield the card from most, if not all, the coil whine?

The backplate will have an effect of reducing EMS.  However, there is no way to guarantee that it will prevent this in all situations.  Anyone who's familiar with coil whine in graphics cards and power supplies knows that this can be a very fickle type of issue for some people.  I recall your issue, but the most I can advise is to test the Pro card(s) out to see if you remain noise-free.  It wouldn't be honest to advise you otherwise.

For two channel get Energy Take Classic speakers and a nice 2 channel mini amp. Currently I have a pair of Energy Take Classics with a 2 channel mini amp and I'm using an rca splitter to connect to a Klipsche Promedia 2.1 subwoofer with the stereo speakers disconnected. Sounds amazing.

Yesterday I did an "auto notify". Today at 8:55 am said it was in stock. When I went to the product page it's still on pre-order.

There are not two cards actually. The second card cannot function without the first card. The second card adds only multichanel for SPEAKERS only!! If you use ONLY headphones the second card is useless for you.You can buy the Nu Audio Pro over the Nu audio because to further improve your sound quality for headphones.

I already have a high-end headphone amp, but considering upgrading from my Schiit Multibit and Eitr stack to a better DAC. Fingers crossed I wouldn't run into EMI issues by going to an internal sound card. But, I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts around sound quality differences.

Any ballpark ETA on the Nu Audio Pro standalone release?

Lee, has the digital out been affected? I'm currently just using it as a digital output. Paid full retail on this unit so not looking to upgrade anytime soon. Could always gift it at some point :)
