My Favorite Computer Case is now the
On the uncommon occasions I use a case any more, the Thermaltake Versa V34 is my go-to case - it is usually the lowest-cost case around that offers 8 GPU slots (critical for my 3-card builds due to how motherboards lay out the card slots), has VERY nice fan options and relocatable/removeable tray options to help keep things cool, and the controls are on the front of the case where I can get to them (unlike the Versa V35 that puts them on the top).
Unfortunately, my 2 favorite power supply series (Seasonic X and EVGA G2) are going away, and the replacements (Seasonic Prime and EVGA G3) went with a junk sleeve-bearing fan design because they decided "quiet" is more important than "long lasting keep the thing COOL at high power levels".
I suspect I'm going to have to go with Silverstone for future PS purchases once the existing stocks of X-series and G2-series supplies run out, as I REFUSE to ever waste money on anything with a bloody DIES WAY TOO YOUNG EVERY TIME OFTEN KILLING THE DEVICE IT IS IN DUE TO OVERHEATING sleeve bearing fan in it.
If it's not Ball Bearing for fans, ignore it or pay the penalty, probably in the first year or two, when the fan DIES.
I'd hate to be in the warrenttee department for EVGA in about 2 years from now when they start seeing a TON of those G3 models returning dead due to the CHEAP EXCUSE FOR A FAN they put in them.
