I have got the 1080 FTW2 and had this since release and also updated the 11ghz bios update and I've just replaced the tim with Mx4 as the temps and fans were playing up on default fan profile, thing is 2 thermal pads were damaged removing but i did manage to refit them to fully cover, on testing temps/fans were fine and looking good, but after i was looking at thermal pads and seen EK (blue) for water blocks but don't seem to sell any other type but price was good as some pads are just silly money, question is will they be ok on the graphics card ? or people used them on here, as if they are ok ill buy just for future backup

also why so many dam screws lol, remember the days when it was less i had to use a magnet tray, might just be me getting old and fluffy

If the pad is thick enough to fit between the cooler and it makes good contact, it will work. Make sure you remove the plastic cover on both sides of the thermal pad, because the thermal pad itself is gray, not blue. I say that, because the blue side is extremely thin, and will feel like it isn’t covered by anything else. Also be aware, the blue side is the most difficult to remove of the two sides lol.

Little update, my pads arrived 10 days after shippend from Germany. They still supply these to owners of GTX1070/1080 which is really great!

I hope this maintains the warranty. I saw posts on reddit saying people were getting denied rma because they opened up the card for the same procedure.
