Hello people of the forum:
I installed the card and it occurred to me to look at before playing and noticed that the fans were not working, then I happened to install EVGA precision and changing profiles "CUSTOM" or "Aggressive" fans began to work. But after closing the program the fans are switched off again. There is something that I miss you install or the card carries some additional pin (in addition to the 2 x 6) for the fans ???
From already thank you

sorry for my English I'm from Argentina and I'm using Google translate

Is your card an ACX 2.0 card? If so, the fans won't turn on until 60c.

yes, it is an ACX 2.0 and 60c. ??? wow ¡¡¡   previously had a Asus gtx 660 TI and did not exceed 50c.. The temperature that would support this 970 ??? It gives me some confidence that are not input those fans turned on. It will be a matter of getting used or perhaps used EVGA Precision?

Yes it is normal. Fans turn on around 65C.

60c is NOTHING for a GPU. But like others have said, as soon as it starts heating up (like when you play a game or something) the fans will kick on.

It's an awesome card!

if you install PrecisionX to use a custom fan curve you shouldn't close it.
as soon as you close the PrecisionX the cards bios takes control of the fans again.

I run a custom fan profile because my 144hz monitor keeps my 980 from downclocking. The card will run at 50c+ like that. So, I run custom fan profile and it the noise is not ANY more louder and it keeps the GPU at 30c at idle and 65c max temp load. Just set a custom fan profile. However, I would suggest using Afterburner and NOT Precision. Unwinder has been working on Afterburner for years and refining it. EVGA dumped Unwinder and chose to go it alone with Precision... the software has more bugs than Afterburner, IMO.

Just picked up a GTX 970 superclocked w/ACX 2.0, and my fans are also not turning on. I installed Precision and set a fan curve, but like someone else said, as soon as I close the fan curve window, the fans turn off. I set my curve and ran the Resident Evil 5 benchmark and watched as the temps crept upwards. 70C and nothing. 75C, nothing. At 80 I cancelled the benchmark and the fans were still not running. The only time I can get the fans to turn on is when I use the fan speed slider at the left side of the Precision interface, and even then it only seems to work about half the time.

I didn't expect to have to use manual fan controls when I bought this card, as my GTX 770 with the ACX cooler handled its own fans just fine.

do you click "Apply" after setting the fan curve?
is your Precision set to start up with windows?

also you must activate "enable automatic fan control" so the fan curve gets used.
