    That guy seemed so Canadian. Just pure innocence. Also trading with some random guy in a parking lot after all of that effort wouldn't be very wise.

    I mean, that seemed pretty genuine to me... The guy just didn't make the right offer and no assurances on the return. It's also a used RTX 3090 and I'd be suspicious too if someone made me that offer... Wondering if something was wrong with it, but understanding I don't need to make that deal because I all ready got what I was trying to get. I've even had people on craigslist provide me a printed receipt. I think he would have had better chances with a RTX 3080 and offering MSRP for the card.

    NOPE.  ..not if I was sitting on a 3090. Also, I'd never ever trust some random stranger in a car park, you could pretty much guarantee that '3090' was something entirely different inside. Sketchy af.

    Them are my people.  I miss hearing the accent.
     
    There are many potential reasons for why he didn't want to make the trade.  One is that he was already invested in his initial decision.

    The answer to that is "he** no"...I wouldn't.
     
    ATi cards can burn in a bad place.
    (and yes, AMD GPU's are ATi....still...to me.)
