Not noticed any real improvements. Many things are more sluggish, a few instances of really big title fonts in places for no apparent reason and battery getting eaten at an accelerated pace. I'm not seeing the value in the update yet.

They say you can custom the Battery use after a few days, it shows what App is using the most so to speak.
It did turn BT on when I updated and I only use BT when I use my KB to set complex passwords.

I bought the Samsung Note 8 but after reading the specs and tests from Toms the new iphone shows a much faster processor and a gpu.. And the kicker is I will get money back as it costs less than the Note 8.
I am upgrading from an iphone 6s plus

    Any Thoughts?

I am waiting for an unlock 8 before I move from my 6 to an 8+ myself.
Not worth it from a 7 from what I have read but maybe is from a 6.

I can't see upgrading to an eight with the newer X coming out in a few months.
Won't even upgrade from my 6 until it pretty much stops working at the price of these darn things.

That is kind of my feelings on things. Apple just hasn't been making me feel like they are doing enough to make me feel like I am in a rush to upgrade. If it breaks or apps tell me I need the latest OS I would probably update to a new model but until then I am happy with what I have. As for OS updates I normally give them a week since some have had problems off the bat. Apple isn't in my mind doing as good since Steve Jobs died and really I can't understand how the stock is worth so much more now then it was back then.

I will just keep plugging along with my 6plus till it dies then see whats on the market, its the only Iphone I have owned
and there is nothing special with Iphones that make me think I have to stick with them.  I have also had a Nokia 920 windows
phone that I liked as well as some Androids, flip phones even a bag phone once (That was a bad boy rofl).

Here is a bit of humor, don't go to apple fanboy I know the hardware has improved in efficiency and other ways so not really a true comparison
    but funny none the less.

Apple is simply charging customers too much money. An iPhone X for 999 dollars? Really? In Europe you have to add another 20 percent on top of that.

I did the IOS 11 update last night.
So far so good, the update went smooth, no issues that I can tell.
Not seen much of a difference so far.

General rule with apple, don't update your last gen device to the new ios for the new gen.

As for the iPhone X I am getting one because of client base, I have to use what they use...( it's a company phone). The no buttons things may be cool or not.

If I was in the market for a new phone it would be the LG V30, that thing is a beast. However my V20 is still pretty new so My next private phone will be a V40.

I have a few friends waiting for x over the iphone 8 plus. But there is a big hardware difference in the 6 s plus and the 8 plus I just bought. I had a 16gb iPhone 6s plus so that was a pain. The 8 plus has a similar look and feel but a much better camera and wireless charging which I have been doing with my 6 s plus for 2 years. I added a little Qi adapter to the back of the phone and the otterbox case covered it so you could not even see it. $3.99 on Amazon - I did not like the edge on the galaxy note 8 screen because of the glass edge and it would occasionally give me a spinning wheel to calculate routes. The note is a great phone but I like the iPhone 8 plus I traded the note 8 for. It is running ios 11 and no glitches or problems so far.
The A11 bionic chip is 70% faster than the the  previous  A10, has 4 cores and "The new Apple‑designed three‑core GPU is up to 30 percent faster than A10 Fusion"
My 3rd line that is free from T-mobile is an LG 4.

"If I was in the market for a new phone it would be the LG V30, that thing is a beast. However my V20 is still pretty new so My next private phone will be a V40."
The V30 is a really nice phone also IMHO.

To me, a thousand dollars for a phone is just nuts.
If my Iphone 6 dies I am going for a Samsung note 4 or the G5
I'll find a NOS or a gently used one. At least you can change the battery and add a SD card for much more storage.
It's a phone for gods sake. A thousand dollars for a phone. Nope.

Yes the non replaceable battery in the iphone does really suck as well as no SD slot - I have friends that are using older versions.
The Note 8 costs more - when I returned it for the iphone I got money back in my account - it(the note 8) truly is the $1,000 phone - and Bill1024 I get it brother - but look at some of the rigs people just on this forum have!
Look at the cost of 1 high end graphics card and consider how many folks have several - forget the price of the cpu and all the other things.
Just to put it in perspective.
I still have my LG flip phone - nice alarm clock!

According to the data from the Apple war room almost 1/2 of the orders now are via the Apple store app.
I was In and Out with my pre-order in 90 sec after 12:01 AM  (when the store was back online)

I really like the new watch - Was even easy to set up on Sprint cell service

That is a good point about the software but you have to consider the price of the new iPhones vs. what you could get an Android that is just as good for. The savings on the phone might make up for having to rebuy the apps you use.

Apple is simply charging customers too much money. An iPhone X for 999 dollars? Really? In Europe you have to add another 20 percent on top of that.

All the cool kids do it. Just look at Nvidia and Intel. They're no angels either with it comes to price point insanity.
Those that compare iOS to Android are missing the point. It's like you're a Windows gamer and someone asks you why you're not running SUSE Linux. It's obvious, because you have a bunch of software you own that won't run on it. Try running Foreflight on Android.

That is a good point about the software but you have to consider the price of the new iPhones vs. what you could get an Android that is just as good for. The savings on the phone might make up for having to rebuy the apps you use.

Totally agree - the mere proposition of owning an iphone was costlier than an android until now - The Samsung flagship is pricier than the the iphone 8 (Wait until iPhone x). Android apps are free and higher in variety. I think 80% of cell phone users have Android. I have had a cell phone since 1990 and the 90s was a very expensive time no matter who the carrier was - you paid by the minute and you paid roaming fees. Now it is unlimited with most plans so the phone itself has become the cost issue, then the OS for what you like to do with your phone. I run apps that are available on both platforms and I do not game on my phone. I do not watch movies either - I have a big screen TV for that.

The nVidia, intel analogy was spot on - same issue on a pricier level. No one is bragging about their GTX 1050 with a celeron cpu
    No-more like a pair of water cooled 1080tis and a 7700k!

No 32 bit applications will work in 11 at all. Because you absolutely need 64 bit applications on your phone........

You are saying the iOS 10 was 32Bit or that iOS 10 aloud them to run?
