So, what does everyone consider 'overclock stable'?

Running constantly for week of P95 with full AVX?

Generally speaking with claims of a "stable overclock" one would be looking for at least 2-4 hours of Prime 95 small FFT (or something like AIDA 64) while observing reasonable voltage and temperatures. 1.5v is not reasonable voltage, that is suicide voltage. Anyone can jack up the voltage to completely unsustainable and damaging levels and grab a quick bench that doesn't really stress the CPU. That should be no ones definition of "stable" or at they very least no one that actually wants to keep their CPU functioning for a reasonable amount of time. 1.35v is about the most you should be running into a 9900K or KS variant on a daily basis if you don't want to degrade your CPU prematurely. Temps should also be kept under 95C give or take for the same reason. You can't have one but not the other. Some people think that just because they can keep their temps under control that it's OK to go higher on the voltage. That is completely untrue and unwise and something no experienced overclocker would recommend.

I have always preferred LinX.

Using 0.9.6, what would be considered 'stable'?

For me usually just means I get no hardware errors when I do what I am going to be doing on the computer.  I've found Asus' Realbench is a pretty decent estimation of this and since I've started stability testing with that I've had no issues with my daily drivers.  I also purchased the karhu memory tool and ran that to make sure my memory was stable and it seems to detect errors faster than my older methods.  That being said I don't do number crunching like FAH or BOINC so I've got no use running Prime or other heavy AVX workloads since my system will never see that kind of load.  Back when I ran my SR-2 system I did prime stability testing but it ran FAH 24/7 so I needed it to be stable with that heavy workload.

If I'm just doing benching as long as it completes the benchmark that's good enough LOL.

This seems reasonable; no errors with normal, everyday workload.

If you use your rig for folding or such, you need that sort of stability.

If you use your rig for gaming, as long as you have no issues, then it is 'stable'.

Therefore, 'stability' is all relative.

Does anyone actually use their rig exclusively for torture tests such as P95 or LinX?

What about the RAM OC ?
Waiting for you "experts" to pick that apart for me as well.
Like I said, go for it .
Whatever rocks your boat .
BTW, if that CPU last a year , I'll be more than happy .
My gear and up to me how I use it .

Just thought that while I am the target here ,by you and your buddies, you would want to try and pull apart everything I post.
I haven't lied about anything.
I'll just stay in Australia and leave you Yanks to slag some other new guy off.
Make him/her feel welcome here .
That's what you "guys" do best.
Think those brench's are easy, beat them and get world ranking.
Ask Sajin .
You guys are obviously better OC than me so go for it .
BTW, do you think you would get these scores without a top CPU ?
Go on , it's easy and anyone can beat it .
Waiting ??????

I got the cpu to what I said .
You claim to be a master OC so beat my scores on unigine .
Don't say they are not cpu scores because without CPU and RAM, it makes no difference .
Come on master, show me?
Beat my scores you expert .

No to both .
You are the one who told me how good you were and how you've tried LN2 and everything else so I thought I would get a lesson off the master .
Beat my scores and I will believe you are as good as you told me you were .

As a seasoned overclocker for years and years who has used everything from old school phase change to Ln2, naturally a claim of 5.6Ghz on a 9900KS caught my eye. I'm actually disappointed yours isn't legit and stable as it would be one of, if not the best results for standard water cooling on this CPU.

You master , I take my hat off to you.
BEAT MY SCORES ??????
Can't be that hard for someone with your ability
We get lots like this clown in Australia .
Been OC  forever and done this and done that .

Thought the Yanks were up for it?
Maybe not .
Never mind, go cry to mommy and say that bad man sold me a dodgy computer.

Have you just had a seizure or something? Now you think I'm the one with something to prove? Are you drunk or just stupid?

No to both .
You are the one who told me how good you were and how you've tried LN2 and everything else so I thought I would get a lesson off the master .
Beat my scores and I will believe you are as good as you told me you were .

Just how stupid are you? Firstly this came about because you made stupid claims of a 5.6Ghz stable CPU, to which I and other quickly pointed out was utter bull$#it and your CPU is not even close to being "stable". I pointed out to you what the widely accepted definition of "stable" is. How did you connect that into thinking you're even worth my time of setting up my Ln2 bench? You are nothing to me but some random dumbass on a forum who think's running 1.5+ volts into a watercooled 9900KS is OK. I'm not going to inconvenience myself to prove what I already know. Then even if I did bother to set it all up and prep the board with silicone and grease, you'd just start crying and pissing your pants that I had to use Ln2. You want a go at me though? I sure as hell aren't going to be the one to tear apart my system. I read in another of your posts (which is probably bull$#it too) that you had a 9980XE and a board. I also have a 9980XE I can easily swap back in and as a gentlemans agreement I won't use any sub ambient cooling.

Your RAM "OC" is also laughable at best. Lowering just CAS latency without tuning TRCD, TRP and TRAS is hardly the mark of someone who knows what they are doing, nevermind you even understanding what tertiary timings are and how to adjust them and how much of an impact they can have on benchmark scores. This is also to say nothing of memory ratio and straps you are clearly also clueless to.

You are nothing to me but another moron in a long line of morons who "thinks" they are good at something.
