so i had this issue forever like seriously forever. i have the asus pg348q 3440x1440 monitor and im pairing it with the evga ftw3 ultra rtx 2080 ti and i9 9900k and 32 gb of ram. so what happen is when i play games ANY game i feel the fps drop. i know im gonna sound crazy. but even though im dropping 2-3 fps im feeling it like crazy everytime it drops i get this 0.1 0.2 freeze. dropping 2-3 fps shouldnt have any visual effect to my game performance espcially visually. after i tried millions of troubleshooting steps including reformating my pc, changing my memory, and installing DDU to clean install my drivers. nothing worked. i even tried turning off gsync and play with fps uncapped same thing i still feel that effect. so yesterday after tinkering around trying to figure it out. i decided to turn off my monitor overclock. my monitor is 60hz native and its overclockable to 100hz. so i thought in my head maybe its not a stable overclock and its causing me those issues. so what i did turned off the oc and i played on 60hz and my problem was solved. is this a defectice monitor? im seriously that desperate because i posted my question on asus forum and nobody replied and reddit also. and if so ill get another monitor native 144hz if i have to. i cant play on 60hz its annoying.

Sounds like a side effect from overclocking the monitor. Could happen with any type of overclocking as you're pushing the hardware beyond what it can handle.

    Try a 75hz monitor overclock.

I have the same monitor on my 1080 Ti's, but I don't see that issue.  I generally run the OC at around 90hz, as I recall seeing some review recommending not to go higher than 90hz, and it's worked fine for me.
