gtx 1660 memory speed?

so gtx 1660 black single fan.
 
memory speed is supposed to be 8000mhz.  but only shows up as 4000mhz on the precisionX1 app or on cpuZ.
 
any insight would be welcome.

    It is GDDR memory so you multiply that times 2

    i am rocking a i5 760.  yep 11 years old with the 1660 card with flight sim 2020.  it works ok.  
     
    but learning as i have not built anything for 11 years.
