I've gravitated back to games that don't have an online aspect. I don't have the time to keep up with the meta or standard so it makes my game time less than enjoyable. I'm not saying that online games don't have a place, but they just aren't for my current focus and schedule. 

I'm playing games that I can sit down and play a campaign or story that really draws me in and keeps me thinking about the story and characters, even while I'm not playing. That way when I do get time to pick up the game again, I remember what's going on and can't wait to continue the story. 

I currently picked up Fire Emblem: Three Houses and have been replaying FFXII.

Agreed. Almost all online games are now built on a sliding scale, where the amount of effort/time becomes exponentially higher to reach higher performance. A gaming ecosystem that uses that kind of foundation is more about profit seeking and promoting unhealthy habits than it is about being a quality game.

Rust. It's so toxic but so fun lol
