I am tempted to give this a try as I remember doing seti back when I was in college, but then I didn't have to worry about power bills. I don't know if it costs more in power than would be made up in the bucks. I know that's a bad way to look at it since it is for a good cause, but I have bills I have to pay, and I'm gonna work, work, work every day.

Let's put it this way, if you are in it for bucks to meet or exceed your power bills, you will most likely be disappointed (unless you have cheap electricity).

On the other hand, most newer GPUs can meet the top bucks goal in about a week running 24/7 (or days with 1080s), and it's nice to have ~$100 discount if you upgrade your PC once per year.
CPU folding is generally considered not worth it, even for those with high folding PPD output and lots of hardware.

Wow that's interesting, I had no idea EVGA was involved in something like this.

Folding can be a fun past time, but it's not worth it if you only want EVGA Bucks.  Generally the electricity cost and time spent is greater than EVGA's rewards.  But if you're like me and really want to do something to contribute to curing disease, then it's worth the expense.

I think it's really cool that EVGA has been sponsoring [link=mailto:F@Home]F@Home[/link] for 10 years now.
