i uninstalled the drivers to update to the latest and now [before I could install the new ones] my screen is black. like powered off black. 
2080 ultra is my card. everything was great until I did this

    got it. had to plug in to a different display port. 2nd time this has happened updating display drivers.

    Glad you got it figured out 
     
    You can always load - "default Windows driver" - then remove old driver, next time
     
    I use DDU in safe mode w/ reboot option
