I've gotten a number of emails recently from a number of companies mentioning changes to their privacy policy, and was wondering if anyone else has gotten them, and if it means, that's there's a new major law or something starting next year. I admit, I don't follow the news much (as much as I'm trying to build up my tolerance of horrible news, it's slow going) So I may have missed out on something.

I have been getting them too. I think it is an end of year, beginning of a new year thing. Seems every year this time of year it happens.

I got a few of those lately but I did get a Ubisoft login from Russia! lol They advised me to change my password if it wasn't me. Didn't hear anything about a data breach from them though. Maybe that'll be in 2 years. Who knows...lol

I haven't really been getting them but anytime I do get an email like this I make sure that the email is sent from the company and am very careful to make sure the name is spelled correctly in the email. Lots of fake fishing emails and when you know to check the email address it came from you can spot them pretty easy. Also if an email tells you to click an link to log in and change a password or update your profile I would recommend going directly to the website and doing it. I don't click on links in emails unless I am expecting the email.

I have a ubisoft account with a couple of games, but most are linked to Steam so they can't access the games. I get a log in from a different country every other day haha. all 3rd world countries, I just ignore them. as long as my main doesn't get breached, I'm good. It's not a data breach though, it's people who brute log ins to sell accounts. Edit: I've also gotten a lot of private policy update emails too recently.
