Me too but I live very close to the home base of the American Bladesmith Society. There's a place in DeQueen, Arkansas called Riverside Machine Shop and the owner sponsors a hammer-in every Thursday. Some amazing guys show up. Jerry Fisk, Mel Pardue, Bob Dozer, and Newt Livesay are a few of the awesome blade smiths I've met. Throw in the fact that AG Russell (take the tour if you can) is a few miles from my little brothers house (Bellavista, AR) and Arkansas is a knife junkies dream. If you get this way holler at me and we'll make the rounds. As for my knives, mostly Benchmade stuff. My personal fav is my Osborne 940 ( http://www.benchmade.com/....aspx?keyword=Osborne) that was a gift for helping said machine shops owner, "Uncle Al" with his computer. I also have an old Benchmade phantom designed by Allan Elishwitz as well as a Nimravus fixed blade. The phantom was a knife I bought my Dad and when he passed I retrieved it. It's one of my prized possessions. No chopping videos, sorry but Ill try and dig out the camera and get some pics. Here's a link for all those that love fine cutlery. Warning! Remove ALL credit cards before viewing. You have been warned! http://www.knifeart.com/

I too own a few knives and swords. I have an actual Teutonic knight's sword, a few reclica swords, and a Marine Corps NCO sword. For knives I have a SOG Tomcat 1.0. I want to get the SOG Tomcat 3.0, Stingray 2.0 - Mino Paper, The Forge and The KIKU Dagger.

Just a balisong bottle opener for me. I don't trust myself with a real blade. I've got a chart going for how many times I would've cut myself if I were using a real balisong. I'm currently down ten fingers, and several palms.

Mostly cut. But with some of the faster tricks I do, they might as well be counted as cut off.

Let's hope it's not something with an aerial! I've gotten decent at those, but more than likely I end up catching it on the bite side or on the wrong handle.

My right hand is partially rebuilt as years ago someone dropped a running circular saw in my palm while I was walking by. I'm very careful about knives seeing as each finger cost over $35000 to repair.

I have had to remind people in my life dozens of time to not try to get the attention of someone using a power saw ever, don't yell to them, don't make gestures unless someone is about to be hurt. Still, my parents and GFs always yell to me and pull power plugs. I ask them later why they don't follow my simple safety instruction and they say it is because they want to talk to me. So I reply, so your desire for my attention is greater than my need for safety?

It only took nicking my thumb with the cutting wheel once to teach him that trying to talk to me while I'm cutting is a very bad idea.

Patches, it's the side without the lock that's safe. And this, I know. It's just that when you do aerials (tossing it into the air), catching the correct handle and not the blade is a little difficult when it's spinning quickly.
